Petrol Prices should be less than Rs 50/Litre | All Energy & Gas Prices Must be Reduced

Oh gosh, you decided to poke your nose here after one week, of course oil prices will be different jack a.ss. I strongly recommend you learn basic English comprehension before posting gibberish.
Personal insult? Nice going.

i agree

cheaper oil prices only encourages car use... we should move to mass transit system,
When you try to build mass transit system such as metro, people label them as Jangla bus. The same goes for orange line metro. We don't appreciate the projects only bicker about them.

Pakistan Petrol Prices should be less than Rs 50/Litre | Gas much lesser, Petroleum prices reduce
  • Pakistan import bill for Petrol, Diesel has now reduced to almost bare minimum.
  • All Daily items prices must be reduced massively.
  • Crude Oil is now trending at less 0$ a barrel.
  • Why government is not reducing prices to under Rs 40 per litre.
  • Oil is now less than $17 a barrel

Where is Pakistan government? It already has no money to pay this year that is $12 billion to return to IMF this year, also got more money. What the heck is happening?

Please correct your facts about oil prices then we can argue about it.

Fact 1: Oil prices in global market are trending between 17-18$ for crude not refined.
Fact 2: There is no where on earth or even MARS that anyone will give you oil for free or pay you to buy their oil. I mean just speaking it out loud sounds stupid at so many levels. If worse comes to worse there are companies that are specialists in disposing off or storing oil in underground. Most probably the former bcz once oil is extracted from ground several factor can make that oil unusable bcz every oil well has its own self contained environment.

Fact 3: Government has reduced oil prices to its market price. There are several costs associated to oil before consumers can buy it. These costs are transportation to refinery, cost of refining oil to desired product, cost of transporting that refined oil to storage, cost of transporting that oil from storage to petrol pumps also include cost of labor involved during all that process. Every consumer product has costs associated with it.

On a side note if Pakistani awam even gets petrol at 0Rs they will start whining about how oil was not delivered at home bcz all Pakistanis are billionaires ki aulad which were misplaced during birth.

I am no aware of the source of your data. Present government has increased tax on petroleum products to raise revenue.

Your estimate of travel time from USA to Karachi is also not accurate. I doubt it takes 75 days fro tanker to reach Karachi from USA.
You doubt it does not mean he is not accurate unless you can present facts rather than your doubts and the usual randi rona in a discussion.

Even though the cost of crude directly related to the cost of the product. There are many other costs involved before the usable petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, LPG, Jet fuel /Kerosene can be made available at the retail outlets at the demand centers.

- Prices crude as quoted in the international market is FOB (Free on Board) Spot prices at the load port. Since the prices change throughout the trading day, for the refining economics, the average monthly ‘Dated Brent’ price should be used. Dated Brent is the BenchMark assessment of the Physical crude.

- To this, one must add the transportation costs from the load port to the refinery gate.

- Converting crude oil into usable products does not come free; hence the refining costs which normally average about $3 to $4 per bbl depending upon the sophistication of the refinery have to be included.

- Finally, there are marketing costs. This includes the cost of storage, distribution, marketing company’s costs & profit, and profit of the service station dealer. Understand as of October 30, 2019, the share of the Marketing Companies in gasoline/petrol was Rs 2.89 per liter and for the Service Station operator was Rs 3.81 per liter.

Please note that no one uses Nynex WTI price in the East of Suez region. Pakistan buys her crude from the Arab Gulf where prices are based on Dubai & Oman quotes. These days Oman is selling at around $29 per bbl. May OSP of the Arab Light Crude is a discount of $7.3 per bbl from the average Oman & Dubai crude price. Which would be about $22 per bbl based on today’s spot quotes.

This government will never pass on the benefits to the common man, all in the name of debt. whereas the reality is that despite these exponentially high taxes, Pakistan’s overall borrowing is at an historic all time high. Which means debts are increasing very fast. Faster than ganjas and zardari combined.

So if you think these high taxes and inflation is paying off our debt, then I’m sorry to break this bad news to you. But Ofcourse most you here are brainwashed or blinded by a narrative. So I’d advise you to google all this before replying.

I had politely told him he was wrong.

Estimated distance from USA to Karachi is 10,205 miles (18,900 km) depending on the port used. A oil tanker traveling at average speed of 9 knots (speed varies between 9-12 knots depending on vessel and ocean conditions) shall reach Karachi in 47 days 6 hours (direct voyage).

Randi Rona is the trade of PTI.

Petrol prices according to internatiol $ 50 a barrel for Pakistan should be around Rs 50-75 max. Donot know why Government of Pakistan is looting Pakistanis like cancer.

Price per liter in United kingdom GBP 1.331 That's 294.19 rupees per liter, Asian lion(Nawaz sharif) crying for 108 liters while paying 294.19 rupees per liter in England is priceless...

Are we comparing british living standard with that of pak now ?

One Indian rupee is equal to 2.14 Pak rupees at today's exchange rate, price per liter in Mumbai, 107 Indian rupees that's 228.84 rupees per liter in Pak rupees...

Well yes and no. As i said in another thread it depends on what the price increase covers.

If it's the cost of fuel, then we shouldn't complain. If it's a new tax, then we should complain.

It makes no sense for a government of a poor country to subsidise fuel, but at the same time, with high inflation, they shouldn't be adding new taxes. If anything they should consider decreasing fuel taxes if they can afford to. This should be done by widening the tax net.
