Seriously mate, you could have posted copps link anyway.

give me source, it's just rumors and wishful thinking, nothing more:hitwall::hitwall:

Who gave you the source of a-100e, fm-90 inductions prior to the visuals we saw on TV?

whats is a battery is it a single unit
The typical air defense missile battery consists of a radar unit, missile control unit, and several launchers.
  • Detection & Tracking Radar.
  • Battle Management & Weapon Control (BMC).
  • Missile Firing Unit.
Battery can be combined different according to needs but it typically takes above elements to make a unit or battery.

That's great but PD needs to keep straightening its air defence & they should go for the option given to them by Russians. TOR M1, PANTSIR 1, TUNGUSKA M1 they will serve really well in PD.

PAF upgrades Crotale missiles indigenously

Crotale 2000-upgraded to Crotale4000
ISLAMABAD: Opening a new chapter of indigenisation and self-reliance in defence systems, Pakistan Air Force has indigenously overhauled surface-to-air anti-aircraft Crotale missiles and upgraded its range.

The roll-out ceremony of this indigenously overhauled Crotale missiles was held on Thursday at the PAF Base, Chaklala. Air Chief Marshal Pervaiz Mehdi Qureshi, Chief of the Air Staff, was the chief guest on the occasion.

Terming it a landmark, official sources said the PAF has indigenously enhanced the Crotale missile original range of 20 kilometres to 30 kilometres. “The existing Crotale 2000 have been upgraded to Crotale 4000,” said an official source.

“The overhauling of Crotale weapon system in the country holds out great promise, and will go a long way in enhancing our indigenous engineering skills,” said Chief of Air Staff ACM Qureshi while speaking at the ceremony. “The present government has accorded high priority to self-reliance and indigenisation so as to stand on our feet in all the critical fields.”

He said the Crotale overhaul programme is a major step in the direction of achieving self-reliance and indigenisation of weapon systems. In particular, the air chief thanked Mr Massel, the Managing Director of Thompson-CSF Air Systems, for sparing his valuable time and coming all the way from France to attend this ceremony.

In the normal course, had the overhaul of Crotale missiles been done in France, the cost could have touched $ 23 million. “But we have done it less then half of this amount,” said a senior official.

Crotale missile system was inducted in the PAF in 1976 to ameliorate the short range air defence. Pakistan Air Force possesses sufficient number of missiles, the source said. With the upgradation of these missiles the enemy aircraft cannot dare to enter Pakistani territory, he added. The system has provided useful service to the PAF for more than two decades and has proved to be an effective deterrence against attacks on vital installations.

HQ-16A LY-80 ground to air defence missile system technical data sheet specifications pictures video | China Chinese army missile systems vehicles | Chinese China army military equipment armoured UK
Missile
The HQ16A (LY-80) missile can intercept an aerial flying target from an 15 m to 18 km of altitude, while its maximum interception range for combat aircraft is 40km, and between 3.5 km and 12 km for cruise missiles flying at an altitude of 50 meters at a speed of 300 meters/second. Single-shot kill probability is a claimed figure of 85 per cent against combat aircraft, and 60 per cent against cruise missiles. The missile guidance system is of the composite type, comprising initial independent inertial guidance and intermittent illumination and semi-active homing terminal guidance.

Control and command systems The HQ16A (LY-80) SAM components comprise a searching radar vehicle, command vehicle, radar tracking and guidance vehicle, launcher unit vehicle, and missiles canister. Technical support equipment includes missile transportation and loading vehicle, power supply vehicle, maintenance vehicle, and missile-test equipment. A single radar guidance vehicle controls two to four launcher units with six missiles ready to launch. The command vehicle is responsible to send target information and combat orders.
The searching radar vehicle is equipped with solid-state S-band 3-D passive phased-array radar mounted on the top of a mast. When the target is detected, the searching radar vehicle performs automatic IFF (Identification Friend-or-Foe), threat judgment, flight path processing and provide target engagement information for the tracking-and-guidance radar. The S-band radar has a range of 140 km and can detect targets flying at an altitude of 20 km.
The tracking and guidance radar vehicle performs target acquisition and tracking, and identification of target types. It also controls the missile launching and illuminates the target after the missile is fired. L-band passive phased-array radar is mounted at the rear of the vehicle and has a range of 85 km. The L-band radar can detect up to six targets and track four of them, and provide fire-control/guidance for up to eight missiles.

HQ16A LY-80 Ground-to-air defense missile system

The HQ16A or LY-80 is a Chinese-made ground-to-air defence missile system which was introduce in the Chinese armed forces in September 2011. This is a land based version of the HQ-16 system used in ships (and fired from VLS (Vertical Launch System) containers. The HQ-16A is based on a joint development of the Russian Buk-M1 (SA-11 'Gadfly') and Ural/Buk-2M (SA-17 'Grizzly') Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) systems, for use from mobile ground vehicles and later from ships. The HQ-16A is able to engage aerial targets at high altitude; the mid-range HQ-16 is also able to intercept very low-flying targets at a distance of up to about 40 kilometers, filling the gap between the HQ-7 short-range SAM and the HQ-9 long-range SAM systems. The HQ-16A missile can hit targets of an altitude from 400 to 10,000 meters.

Design
The HQ16A (LY-80) launcher missile system is carried by an 8x8 truck that contains a command and control station behind the cab, and behind those are six firing missile containers in two rows of three. These containers are tilted back so that the missiles can be fired straight up, just as they are from VLS (Vertical launch System) cells. In firing position, the wheels are raised off the ground and the carriage is supported at four points by hydraulic jacks, two at the rear and one on each side.

Umkhonto-IR [ for navy ] and RBS-23 BAMSE [ for army ] were in the news in 2009 after the induction of RBS-70 and Anza Mk.3

I wonder what happened

Sir Aamir Hussain mentioned that we still use SA-2/HQ-2B

Boy itna technical hunay ki kia zaroorat hai. As long as the systems are effective and we have enough of them to guard our key installations is good enough. Good research though

it's not a problem for Pakistan one of my pal who works at SPD told me that producing any kind of missils system is not problem for us,look at RAAD ALCM,in Asia there is no weapon like that but he told me that funds are problem.in case of cortale 4000 they have done something with rocket motors like They used advanced solid-fuel composite rocket motor, which has a relatively slow burning rate compared to similar motors, as well as being essentially smokeless.

Pakistan should set some sort of air defense on all borders also including Iranian side border in current situation.
