Average life expectancy at birth in Bangladesh rose to 72 years in 2017 from 71.6 in 2016, according to the national statistical agency.
The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics or BBS published the Report on Bangladesh Sample Vital Statistics 2017 on Wednesday.

Male life expectancy increased slightly to 70.6 years from 70.3 in a year while female life expectancy rose to 73.5 years from 72.9.

“Our analysis shows that the gain in life expectancy is somewhat pronounced among the females than those among the males resulting from a higher survival advantage in favor of females,” AKM Ashraful Haque, who headed the team of surveyors, said in the report.

The BBS said life expectancy in Bangladesh has increased by 0.32 years per year on average.

ICDDR,B Emeritus Scientist Dr Abdur Razzaque said at a programme marking the publication that the drop in infant mortality rate might have pushed the life expectancy at birth up.

“Besides this, many critical diseases can be treated in Bangladesh now,” he added.

Ashraful said the study found the population of the country was 162.7 million, with 81.4 million male and 81.3 million female.

Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal was also present.

I think this might be the main reason, chronic health care in BD is still in very poor condition.

Bangladesh has a very impressive life expectancy relative to its income level. In this area it definitely punches above its weight. If life expectancy and per capita income is graphed, Bangladesh scores above the line of best fit.

Resolving social and health issues is fundamental to sustained development. I expect Bangladesh to continue its upward trend and stabilize around a relatively high life expectancy once it reaches a higher development level. Trends are important and this sustained high life expectancy relative to income is indicative of some competitive factors.

Drop in infant mortality is certainly responsible for the growth in the average life expectancy. Medical treatment lags behind, but I can attest it has also improved by many folds during the last few decades. The economic emancipation at the grassroots level will certainly enhance the expectancy by another few years.

It's best you continue this tangent (for your own sake) and not investigate like litany of BD member attitude made me to over time:

These are very long standing problems, and yet, very little has been done to improve the quality of the services provided by BBS.

The government is perhaps more worried about the embarrassment an efficient BBS can do to its image with correct data than the harm an inefficient BBS can inflict on policy making and, the economy with incorrect data.

How to get better mortality rate data (and other) on paper:

How to reduce TFR and mortality rates (including infant) at same time on paper:

Ask yourself, does this sound like a country that has 72 years of life expectancy based on spurious claim of low infant mortality?:

Take Mustafijure Rahman, for instance. A Bangladeshi citizen, he came to Kolkata with high-value denominations. On Wednesday the brother-sister duo queued for four hours before leaving with some money. They’ll need to go back again on Saturday when some tests are scheduled. “We come to India for treatment because we know that here the quality of medication and treatment is far superior to Dhaka. It’s more expensive, but it’s a matter of life and death. We sold land to come here, and now that money has been rendered useless,” he said.

BTW, estimate ranges anywhere from 500,000 - 1 million of the 1.2 million BD "tourists" to India each year are such kind of people coming for the most basic of medical treatment (even X-rays)....selling land to do it.

Please do read through this thread:

Read this post too for summary:

And do check where Bangladesh is (and stagnant) on the corruption perception index:

https://www.transparency.org/news/feature/corruption_perceptions_index_2017

And what the BAL "chetona" elitist attitude is when this corruption (rooted in BD govt and society) is mentioned, and their silence when it is fact checked:

(check about 3 posts down for the fact check....Indonesian members provided some for accusation hurled on their country further down too).

It is simply grossly different level of standards at play basically....Bangladesh will have to improve qualitatively before it can compare "apples to apples" with other countries in the region and world.

@Gibbs @Major Sam @django @Khan_21 @Marine Rouge

Bangladesh does far better better on social and health of it's citizens compared to India, no surprises there. It's not only that BD is good at it, India sucks so much that IND populace has far lower life expectancy than world average.

What load of BS nonesense from an ultra obsessive Endia hindutva whos life depends on BD section here on this forum. Beggar always begs for something, in this case your always begging for BD members attention since your own kinds despise you.

Who the f compared apples to apple? You mentally brainwashed deluded punk. This is a state, figure coming of bd about bd, and nowhere it compares with any countries. But it takes an idiot like you to mention things in order to twist the thread around for your own trolling enjoyment? What do you get out of it? Does Modi pay you to troll on the BD section? Or do you genuinely have an inferiority complex?

It seems like anything related to Bangladesh and Bangladeshis are a pain in the back for you. That’s why your always out to twist threads into a negative out of the blue.

That's a dalit syndrome. These Indian trolls are mainly from dalit/low caste backgrounds, victims of discrimination and racism in their own country, who try to hide off their low-born complex with such vile posts in this forum as a fragile plaster.

@waz .... salty triggering alert :P

Salty? Coming from a troll like you who derails every thread on BD section. Now trying to put an act? This isn’t bollywood kid. And the mods here are not easy to fool, they know exactly what you’re like.

It’s about time mods warn you about coming to BD section and always derailing threads @awaz @WAJsal . Bd members don’t want you to be coming here as all you do is troll, nothing constructive to add to a thread but tryiing to troll like a deluded retard with no shame. I’m highly surprised mods haven’t banned you permanently for being the jerk that you are on here every time. Have some dignity, get this into your skull we don’t like you, BDeshis here despise you so stop begging it. Scum.

Couldn’t have said it better. Exactly what I’ve been thinking each time I come on this forum and see these dalits acting big lol.

Wonder what makes the ones that follow this inferiority stricken indian. The ones that he calls doesn't generally come to BD section ever. Yet when he tags them in a thread in this section, they follow to thank his post like dogs responding to their master's whistle.

@Cybernetics you can check the massive ego damage (given the inability to respond to the content and proceed to their deluded ad-hominem immediately) inflicted on these birdbrains yourself haha now...and think are such people intrinsically credible and capable with numbers and logic? You don't need to answer btw, just keep it in mind.

Dude, just get a life. That is what everyone is trying to tell you.

You live in Canada and can have a decent existence being unemployed that you are.
Go out to the great outdoors as that is free.

I have got a friend in facebook who often shares links to Soundcloud of his weird music recordings and tags all of us. We can't tell him how weird he sounds or how irritating the music is. All we do is give a like to his posts as a token of appreciation and move on.

Hope you got your answer.

You know, if you have any twitter account , You can start tweeting about your ingenious discovery about BBS, It will help salvaging some Hindutva BJP ego in twitter, most of them cant bear Bangladesh beating them at every aspect. You will be celebrity and within no time Bhakt whatsap groups will start sending you money. Then you can modify videos and propagate to form some lynching mobs as well who might be able to kill some anti nationalists here and there. You waste almost 16 hours minimum everyday in this forum, channel it to twitter broh, earn some money.
