What's new

Turkish Engine Programs

Do we have 350-400hp engine project to nationalize Kirpi MRAP's engine?

New Generation Light Armored Vehicle Power Group Development Project continues. This engine's IPR rights will belong to Turkey. First goal is 675 kW engine and new transmission for 40-ton tracked vehicles. The contract was signed in October 2017. This crew working very well.

In the meantime, the success of the Azra civil engine development program will also have a positive impact on the public. It will also be possible to use in tactical wheel vehicles, as OğuzSentürk notice...

Those six-cylinder engines with 400 and 600 horsepower are likely to be used in new BMC pro trucks. Models around 250kW can be used in city buses like Procity.

There will be many models with a maximum output of 300-to-600 hp in different displacement. If we think about our needs and export development , some heavy duty Azra engines seems quite possible that could be certificated for military tactical wheel vehicles .

What are Azra engines? Which company develops those?

Biggest issue for Tumosan was the emissions side of it, if BMC POWER does as they say and meet Euro 6 emission standards that would be fantastic. However, I Still would prefer these companies to go hybrid or all out electric and reduce impact such public service and commercial vehicles have on city air-pollution...

Aselsan should work with TEMSA, BMC, OTOKAR to create a standard. Electric motors, batteries, charging stations... here's hoping anyway..

So BMC isnt some Erdogan money londering sheme as some of members do ademantly claimed with out any real evidance. They talk the talk and walk the walk after all.
