Funny thing is we are replying to this thread. IMO Pakistan is way ahead of us, end of story. Same people give different opinion on different thread is amazing, in on thread they will say India is ahead, overspending etc and than this.

looks like an Indian article..

I was going to say the same.. With 280 MKIs and FGFA under development, it is afraid of Thunders.. And a country that has 7 times more military budget 2.5 times more army is "behind Pakistan" That's so Indian!

Oh lord here we are again with another little boys and girls thread stop this bs.. both nations are in arms race... no one is better then the other talk about peace for once.

so now we belive indian media lollllllllllllll

toh imram bhai to aap maan rahe ho ki PA does not have the edge over IA ...
wah wah !!!!:yahoo:

Both countries know they have loads to lose over a frontal conflict ....
so unless one decides i have nothing to loose there will be no war ....
we we might as well spend some tym doing some worthwhile discussion ....
than fighting over fanboy stuff...

:coffee:

Subs and howitzer can be better..But ballistic missiles..?:what:

Any missile that delivers a warhead into Pakistan is better and have loads of them.....Agni-I,Agni-II,Prithvi,Brahmos.(All tested adequately, inducted and operationlised)

So believing in this my ballistic missile is better ,urs is not good is crap at best.

Google it i still believe, because of chinese assistance they got better tech, number, and range.
our missiles are yet to get operational except a few like agni 2, prithvi, brahmos (cruise missile)etc

This is all pure Indian propaganda to keep the multi-billion dollars a year defense shopping spree going.

I m only convinced by one fact out of this article and that is that Pakistan Army/air force's fight against terrorists is gaining them good combat experience , Having been a solider myself and keeping close watch on military developments around the globe i can honestly tell u that a veteran solider is much better placed in combat(even if he has relatively outdated arms) then a fully armed to-the teeth adversary with no combat experience. Indian units fighting against Maoists are (i hope) gaining good experience as well.

wow, this is what i truly agree. before the war on terror **** soldiers didnt even know whats parameter definition and how to hold the gun during low intensity combat.

Military budget of Pakistan : $7.8 Billion(2009) around 4.5 % of GDP

Military budget of India : $32.7 Billion(2010),around 2.2 % of GDP

While India keeps cancelling and re-issuing RFPs endlessly, Pakistan is forging ahead on a war footing. They are ahead of India in the following:-

1. Howitzers

India has been dilly-dallying over artillery guns for close to 30 years since the Bofors scam. Pakistan has inducted U.S. made M-109 howitzers.

Indian Express: United Nations data reveal that delivery of the M-109 A5 self-propelled artillery guns took place last year. The guns were transferred under the US Foreign Military Financing (FMF) programme that was granted to Pakistan for the fight against militant groups on its border with Afghanistan. Experts say these M-109 A5 155 mm howitzers give Pakistan a definite conventional edge over the Indian Army that is years away from induction of similar systems. Full news

M-109 that old age howitzer,do u think it is what that take u ahead than us,about Indian howitzer procurement, just type M-777 on google, and that is what u r not going to get damn in this century

2. UAVs
The game changers in the ****** war are the future of any credible Air Force. But PSU infighting delayed India's plan for 4 years. Recent articles on 8ak noted that Pakistan has started drone production with Selex Galileo.

which UAV is actual the game changer for Pakistan, for god sake now dont tell that u possess thousands of global hawks, predators and reapers

3. Fighter Jets
While our military aircraft crash at a rate of 1.5 a month means a constant grounding of fleets (the Sea Harrier fleet is grounded after last weeks crash), Pakistan is upgrading their F-16s to the latest Block C/D with a little help from Turkey. Russia has also given the go ahead to China to give Pakistan the engines for the JF series fighter aircraft.

what a stupid point,u still have nothing that is eqivalent of MKI,i am not saying much about MRCA and FGFA,what is there in store in future for u

4. Motivation
The Pakistani people are united, not by their nationality, but by their religion and their constantly-re-inforced-by-the-mullahs/government view on Kashmir. Add to this the combat experience they are gaining in the ****** war and one can see that they would be a formidable force.

now the lamest 1,1 pakistani=1000 martian's:lol:

5. Funds
While India's budget is larger thanks to a better economy, Pakistan gets billions in equipment and training from the U.S., China and Islamic sympathisers like Saudi Arabia.

The list could go on to include helicopters, missiles, nuclear weapons. But at least India has the Arihant submarine. Well not exactly. Strategy Page article says that the Arihant was launched without a working reactor to scam the public in to believing that the government has something to show after sinking billions in to those projects.

even with all the grants u get in addition to ur own budget still is not even 1/4 of the Indian budget

helicopters, within next 5 yrs u can find LCH,Apache,MI-28 all in Indian arsenal, even our current arsenal is several time bigger than u

Strategy page exactly revealed how dumb r they, and how only dumb people believe it

What else you want for Pakistan.? Agni -5 ??

BTW Agni -I is also operationlised.

The only point of this article is that Pak inducts goodies faster than India.

However, eventually India does have the capability to counter any pak acquisition.

The motivation factor is definite plus for pak army. The reverse psychological impact of the 2002 Operation Parakaram on Indian soldiers is irreparable.

Seriously I dont understand people going about with this term - "Motivation factor".

If you think Indian Jawans are any less motivated than any of the other Army men..then guys you are sadly, deeply mistaken.

Or if you believe that based on the failed martial races logic..then fine carry on.

Pakistan is simply not interested in gaining a military edge against India - Pakistan as a defender, that is to say, Pakistan's entire military outlook with regard to India as an opposing Agressor, is to deny the Indian the prospect of victory, once again, Pakistan's military policy with regard to an agressive India is to deny the Indian the prospect of victory.

It is the inherent agressiveness of the Indian posture that is enabled by the "feeling" that India needs ever greater spending on her War making budget, whereas Pakistan chooses those policies and equipment that deny the Indian the prospect of victory and thereby forcing India to spend ever greater treasure on her war making capablity.

Funnily, in all the 4 wars with India, Pakistan has been the aggressor and then we get labled with the aggressive posture.

India needs to spend more because we have 2 borders to guard. Not because we want to increase the multiplication factor of our superiority against Pakistan.

China has only responded with respect - The inherent aggressivness of India is a deep concern of all countries that neighbor India, the fact that India spends as much on her war making capablity is sobering. Pakistan's policy has been to deny the Indian the prospect of victory and in doing so Pakistan, at least thus far, has succeeded in ensuring that India's inherent aggressiveness is tempered by the realization that it cannot, even after huge expeditures to build up it's war making capability, be assured of victory.

Indian oficers who serve in captive Kashmir from the lowest to the highest level, it seems have been identified, perhaps consequences will follow, but thus far it seems these consequences have been limited to denying them travel privelages these would like.
