Global K-pop sensation BTS will hold their first concert in Saudi Arabia and the Arab world in October.

The South Korean septet, whose name is short for Bangtan Sonyeondan, which translates as Bulletproof Boy Scouts, will perform in Riyadh as part of the Riyadh Season festival.

The event will be held at the King Fahd International Stadium on October 11.

The Saudi capital will be one of the stops of the group’s “Love Yourself… Speak Yourself” world tour.

BTS is among the most popular K-pop group’s in the Arab world, with their songs gaining 25 million listens on the Anghami music app, which is the largest music platform in the Middle East and North Africa.

BTS have developed a global following in recent years, becoming the first K-pop group to top charts in the US and Britain with a string of sold-out shows in Los Angeles, Chicago and London’s Wembley Stadium.

Their hit single “Boy With Luv” broke the YouTube record for the most views in 24 hours, with 74.6 million hits when it was released in April.

Earlier this year BTS became first K-pop band to top the US album charts, a sign of the genre’s growing global appeal.

Saudi Arabia witnessed its first ever K-pop concert on Friday with superstar group Super Junior performing at the Jeddah Season festival.

the Saudi image is absolute toxic in the west. nobody wants to be seen around mohammad bone saw. western governments are facing court challenges to their arms export to Saudi. and despite all the medias efforts its becoming impossible to ignore the genocide in yemen.

so the Saudis spend hundreds of millions/billions on western PR firms to try and improve their image. one of the suggestions is to invite sluts and trashy pop singers into Saudi arabia to give it the image of another normal country with concerts.

its an PR effort by the Saudis that betrays their position as the supposed guardians of the holy mosques.

mecca and medina belong to all muslims and need to get their own sovergnty (like the Vatican city)

Saudi arabia has less then 30-40 years of western protection left. I don't see how they will hold on to the mosques and their eastern shia regions when that day comes.

mecca and medina belong to all muslims and need to get their own sovergnty (like the Vatican city)

Who is going to pay for the upkeep, maintenance, and authority of such a place? The Vatican model doesn't work for mecca Medina because there is no structured "system" in Islam.

There will be countless conflict for governance and domain authority over a non-sovereign mecca medina.

They are boyish looking men
I love their center parted hairstyle
the first thing comes to my mind by looking at them is they are playing some kind of role, their faces shows some kind of discomfort but all this aside I'm wondering what kind of culture makes men to put on make ups and hair color?? seems like westernization/modernization failed in S-korea.

DEFEND THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE REVOLUTION!!!

Reminds me of the time KPOP singers performed in North Korea, and the Koreans in the North just cringed at them.
