There were talks of improving the power of engine by altering bypass ratio to improve dry thrust to 58 kn. It seems that it is done parheps. This should give Tejas an exceptionally high T/W ratio. Uttam is also under testing and performing much better than Israeli ELTA 2052 and should be ready next year. EW suit is also under development in line with similar one developed for Mig 29. MK1 A will have improved aerodynamic and reduced weight. It will havehnet centric capability and sensor fusion and state of art IFRTS. These are the reasons why Indian air force have gone crazy after Tejas and wants to pay almost as much as they pay for mighty MKI. Tejas has now surpassed all expectations of Indian air force. It is a small aircraft having big punch.

You are correct only engine GE404 is American, Radar is Israeli, Missiles are Russian & Israelis And many more small parts imported .... yet it is indian made .. come on man .. this thing has been discussed many time in many threads lets go..... get back to work

As for the motorbike market Pakistan is the sixth largest market and one of the fastest in the world with almost two million sales of local bikes manufactured mostly in Pakistan. Almost two million units were produced in the country:

So made in India Teja is over 70 percent made in other countries product...... so why not buy a plane from outside and use your own tires and paint to call it Indian?
