What's new

Jf17 and Mig 35 remain the only options being evaluated for increasing interest: Argentine air force

How is that relevant here? Subsonic ejection is likely much more simple than ejecting at mach 1.5 for example.
If sny country so can chinese
Chinese already for decades are building their own
Besides i doubt UK will veto the seat
Reporting is incorrect - China is selling FC-1 Block III, that is DIFFERENT from JF17 Block III ... and it is not a matter of being pedantic..
No

Tejas is consider comparable to JF-17 by aviation community
Tejas jet is as flawed as Arjun tank. Modern deltas require canards and tejas doesnt have them. MK2 Will be stretched fuselage and have canards. The tail is also too short which is aerodynamic drag issue. Only Mk2 can be a competitor of JF17 block 3 and Mk2 is unrealistic before 2025 at earliest as working prototype is not yet developed for testing. Not too mention the 60million per unit cost.

Not every weapon system is 100% perfect and foolproof JFT has an own weakness and advantages

Well said

What ever these Argentinians buy good luck to them they will need it. British has euro fighters stationed on falklands soon be joined by there new stealth plane f35 . Argentina , decides to buy Russian bird junk with twin engine will still be no match against its foe

They are apparently in negotiations with CASIC for 12 Jf17 blk3

Argentina is not very Interested in Falklands it was just a ploy of military junta at the time to deflect internal situation ans ended up in a bigger mess

Considering am-39 with max 50 km range actual combat conditions about 30 km

Vs c-802 and Akg with 180 and 230 km and actual combat say 70-75 % range still far far greater capability

On paper the r77-1 could perform similarly to the AMRAAM AIM 120C. We saw how that went
All I was saying was we bested their r77-1 aam. We literally jammed their radars and weapon systems.
I have been following the R-77 news closely. First, what we saw on 27-feb was their R-77 (RVV-AE) not R-77-1 (RVV_SD).

R-77-1 is 110 cm longer than the R-77 and comes with a quoted range of 110 km (a match from AMRAAM c-5):

Pre Balakot, R-77 was claimed to have a range of 100 km, that was revised to 80 km post Balakot. The range difference arises from the standard test conditions between US and Russia (I think US is at something like 20k feet and Russia's at 40k feet).

India has already ordered the R-77-1 back in 2019 and should be getting operational with them as we speak. The R-77-1 is a more immediate threat to PAF than the Meteor, I am surprised its being discussed less than the Meteor.

In all likelihood, Argentina would pick-up the weapons package offered by AVIC. In fact, it seems that the main contractual driver of this specific deal is AVIC, so the Argentinians will likely get everything from non-ITAR (and non-UK) weapons, subsystems, and a credit line to back the deal. China isn't only interested in selling JF-17s, but in all likelihood, other equipment to Argentina as well.

I wouldn't worry about Russia either. Argentina is on thin ice (just like Pakistan), so it isn't going to test the US' resolve over CAATSA, especially when the US is key to trade, finance, and other necessary elements.
So bro if our share in JF17 is 58% so does that mean we also get 58% profit?

I sincerely believe JF17 will/can become the Mig21 of this century.

This is just the beginning for Argentina to start building up a formidable airforce. Victory doesn't come in a day or two or with a purchase order or two. It takes a generation of expertise and hard work and this is the starting point.

Why would Britain station f35 in the Falklands? And how many euro fighters are stationed there. Not on a war footing is it

Do Mig-35 has anti-ship capabilities? JF-17 blk 2 are capable of carry out anti-ship missile.

If Mig-35 do not have such capabilities. A 80% chance, JF-17 will surely bag the deal. Falkland is always part of Argentina military planning.
