Indian Brahmos missle crashes in Mian Channo

That is the part I am wondering (and worrying about); the missile has over-ride controls to allow it to be remotely destroyed. Why was that not done?

It is possible that the bungling extended to this failure as well. Oscar's First Law applies.
This is impossible.

Do the arithmetic. Take the operating speed of the missile and estimate how long it took to traverse the distance.

You mean on earlier occasions? Quite possible that channel might have been used, but NSA to NSA. I am not aware of any such thing. These might have happened; since they happened after the missile landed, obviously better sense prevailed in Pakistan, and the decision-makers concerned did not hit the panic button. This is sensible and downright admirable.
Agreed. It’d have been hard to convey the message the system was airborne. And it barely gave them 6 mins.

Regardless, fairly sure that a contact was made. Else I don’t see a reason for PAF to call off its retaliation package.

Yes.

But it didn't. For that let us count ourselves fortunate, and try to do whatever we ought to, to tighten things up.

You can take it for granted that Air HQ and the ministry are buzzing with activity as we speak.
What would the response have been if it was the other way around?, a Pakistani supersonic cruise missile flying past civilian airliners and hitting or nearly hitting civilian structures. Would India accept the story it was an unintentional launch? Or would they use the incident to claim some kind of attack that failed (or actually succeed as a probing action).

Some kind of deconfliction needs to happen after this incident, on the part of the Indian military, as the party at fault for repeated “accidental incidents”. Indian units with these kinds of missiles should be removed from all bases like the one this missile was fired from and not allowed to operate (in peacetime) within 300 km of the border, so if the Indian military does this again, another missile that “misfires” can more likely land in India next time.

With India’s track record of accidents, the next incident could be an Indian Agni missile “misfiring” towards Pakistan, Armed or not, with the short flight times, that kind of missile could trigger Pakistani air defenses to think it was a NUCLEAR attack. We don’t put anything past the current Indian leadership, as they are known to carry out false flag operations to kill dozens of their own soldiers to try to trigger a war between India and Pakistan, just to win an election.

They should also be obligated to compensate any civilian who lost property in this incident.

Really cannot think of any memorable meeting.
I am very much sure that you remember where we met, I don't know why are you hesitant?

If I was rude, I apologise.
No, you were not - no need to apologize. Only you tried to be dominant being overconfident.
You know Pakistan always rejected Indian dominance, we believe in peaceful co-existence based on equality.

If not, there is nothing to talk about other than the weather.
Yes, mercury is rising, day by day.

It was unarmed, dear Sir.

If there had been a nuclear warhead on it, we would not be sitting here talking.

You did notice the irony in your using the term rogue military based on one accident of the sort that the US, with its superpower efficiency, has had in its own time, and your using it against the background of 75 years of consistent behaviour by some other military. It is a lighter moment at the time of such tensions.
sir how we know if it was armed or not ? if paksitani side nuclear forces decide to retaliate with in minutes ???

The PAF are the finest of the six services in south Asia. They are not trigger-happy kids. I would like to believe that they waited to find out what was going on.

So just because US had a similar accident you are allowed one as well. That is a very sound logic. You are having accidents in your armed forces quite a lot. Accidently shot down a helicopter, accidently ruined a submarine, accidently flipped a ship etc.

I don't really care about other incidents but missile incidents could lead to very hazardous consequences. Pakistan never had any incident like this before. I guess professionalism does matter.

How about because accident prone Indian Army could start next nuclear holocaust why not give the control of Indian Missile to professionals in Pakistani Army during peace time and in case war breaks out we will give the control back to you. I think its a win win right :)

They couldn't, and they didn't. If the Moon were made of green cheese, our diets might have differed. It isn't, and we eat what we do.

Someday they would accidentally launch a nuclear tipped missile and wipe out Pakistan. They will call it unintentional and the world will do nothing. We should have a strategic base with nuclear missiles in Afghanistan, so if they try something like this we should be able to wipe them from Afghanistan.

That, my friend, is the crux of the matter. I can not imagine that once the deviation was detected (due to a malfunctioning actuator, let us say), then why did the missile not self-destruct? This single point is a big question mark on the Indian narrative. It can not be taken on face value just like that. The chances of two malfunctions in one instance are too remote & therefore we must look at the excuse with suspicion.
Because it wasnt an accident . Simple .

Hum sab yahan achi trah ye baat jantey hain bass manna koi ni cha raha.

The helicopter shooting down was investigated, the persons concerned taken action against, and steps have been taken to forestall the gap in communications that caused this.

Leaving a submarine hatch door open is again a serious mistake. Again, action has been taken. Worse accidents have happened in other, supposedly very well run navies. My point is that these cannot be shown to be any kind of general trend.

The example of the frigate in the drydock was nothing to do with the armed forces. That example was downright stupid.

How do you know? It is far more secretive in the Pakistani military than in Indian counterparts.

No. It is clear from both DG(ISPR) Briefing, as well as tweet by NSA Moeed, that there was no behind-the-scene contact. Yesterday's India's official response, pursuant to the DG(ISPR) Briefing, is the only communication. Before that India was keeping a mum.
I read his tweet, he does say "immediate", so contact may have been directly after the incident or towards the end?

Can you point towards the time slot during the ISPR briefing where it was mentioned? It's a long video

I find it hard to believe everything is going this calm, if India just simply kept quiet...

Somehow, it seems to be a difficult task for me to convince you that these things are taken seriously in the circles that matter. If it worries someone posting on an internet site, it definitely worries someone in a position of responsibility.

A GREAT idea!

Do feel free to publicise it.
