What's new

Anti-lockdown protests spread to Wuhan, China. More Sunday in Shanghai

Nothing new. It's another attack by CIA. Color revolution in China funded by US dollars.
The protest location in Shanghai is about 0.5km away from American Consulate.
In Beijing, the protest location is also about 0.5km away from American Embassy.
I don't know the protest location in Whuhan. Can anybody tell me?

I think the protests are natural, humane, and very late. I admire peoples' patience. It is unjust to paint them as pawns or mindless robots.

The problem for the Chinese government with respect to the anti-lockdown/forced quarantine protests is multifold:

1. They cannot pin that on malign foreign forces with straight face. It can be done by the loyal pawns on the social media and forums, but you will not likely see one of the diplomatic Wolf Warriors will speak out and point fingers at the Evil West.

It was convenient during the Hong Kong protests. But, not with this one. These protests are due to a policy failure which is 100% "Made in Beijing."

2. They also cannot pit one group of people against the other and ensure compliance. This is not Western China. This is the core of China. So, no minority-bashing, and no way for Evil West-led domestic forces narrative.

3. Previously, most common people did not mind draconian measures because they did not impact peoples' livelihoods across the spectrum. For example, one-child policy was ruthless, but it did not disrupt daily life and livelihood. So, people took those ruthless policies in. But lockdowns and scary forced quarantines threaten peoples' very sense of safety.

I cannot imagine some civilians (party members, not even the police) knocking on my door in the middle of the night and taking me some unknown place. I cannot imagine being tracked via a software and fearing when the green will turn red. I cannot imagine finding the door of my home is welded from outside and I am locked in literally.

I went through China's quarantine and measures, and it is damn scary. SCARY. I mean it. I could not wait to leave. Recent developments have completely changed my outlook on China.

This does seem logical because the loudspeakers in the minarets at the US consulates calling the local people to riot 5 times a day can only be heard so far. Beyond that distance any kind of communication is futile.

Most of this is fake news. Foxconn is actually a Taiwanese company, and Chinese workers are protesting against their "wage theft".
As far as other stuff is concerned, I still don't get it - why doesn't China not kick out US consular staff and close all US embassies?

Because if people still protest after they are gone they wont have any convenient excuse to use anymore.

Nah. CIA never used loudspeakers to instigate roits. That's too low. US has a whole procedure on it. It's not even a secret. We have seen this many times. In Syria, Ukraine, Hongkong. China is different to all these regions. China has a more mature system to prevent color revolution. So the start place of any color revolution in China must be close to its headquaters so that fast measures could be made for any plan changes.

I honestly don't care if Xi lock you people down forever, I mean, what is the different? People being lock down for protest if they don't like COVID lockdown, or they can be a good dog and get lock down at their home because of COVID, every turn is suck anyway. You are going to get lock down eventually eitherway....lol

And yes, I am enjoying the show

Either Frank has hearing problems or he is an Yindian Frank. Those people were shouting 'I want de-lock' 。Can't blame them but isolating 0.0001% for the sake of 99.999% is worth it in my opinion. Their sacrifice guarantees my parents health. Lol. Having said that i am gonna watch the WC match in a bar tonight again, MASKLESS.

Meanwhile in the land of the free.

You are misled by west media. There was no lockdown in Beijing in the first place. Presently China is using flexible zero covid policy. So I wonder what these people protested for. And I also wonder why college students are the main force of protests. Do students need to work? No. Do lockdown affect their freedom? To some extent maybe yes. But they are the last group of people that are affected by lockdown. Cause in most time they should stay in school even there is no covid. The only explanation is: The students are easy targets of west propaganda. They are easy to be manipulated by outside power penetration.

Well, students are the future. If they are that easily manipulated by the west then I would say China have no future, don't you think? lol
