TF-X Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircraft Projects

Why not? Why ty to fix what is not broken?

Unless we can make it much safer, much lighter etc. which we probably can't ...there's no rush.
"Our problem in the sector is that the defense industry cannot reach large volumes(like aviation giants). When you produce two combat aircraft and two ATAK helicopters a month, the turnover is small. We need bring more industrialists into the picture. Big companies need to enter the market from outside. For example, there are three companies producing ejection seat system in the world. If Turkiye cannot make its own ejection seats, it is not possible to say a fully national airplane. But who will make two ejection seats a month? The critical point here is to produce special products. We need to find mechanisms for our industrialists to focus on this type issues."

I very much doubt that we will turn into such a pariah state that nobody will sell us some fucking ejection seats. If that happens, we have much bigger problems.

I don't want to be North Korea v2

Rather than obsessing over making everything %10000 Turkish, we should focus on large scale commercial production. We need to enter the ciivlian aviation sector. We're here suffering from delusions of becoming a super power yet there isn't a single civilian plane that we make or even plan to make.

It would be much easier to buy 300 ejection seats and put them in the warehouse. Let's give the order first, we saw that the British Boys are coy, then we get to work with understanding of their intentions. If they're selling without a problem, we won't be wasting our money on R&D for the ejection seat.

Does anyone know how many General Electric F404s were bought for testing? There are going to need a couple more prototypes to match the testing schedule and get to operating clearance and initial production in 2025. And whats the radar and avionics suite for the plane?

Ther is no radar for now, what i now ther will be italian radar. Ther is no inention to design radar, more important fighters need the radar. TFX and F16, avionics is Turkish from flywire to displays.

Is it normal for first flight that wheels are out of fuselage?

Congrats to all turkish people and all proffesional stuff engaged on projects.

Normal, first flight always open in any case what can mailfuntion to open the wheels. No wheels no landing.

American friends gave us to enter service date of Hurjet, they decided 2023. if this is written by deliberately that means forget about engines for hurjet.

hmm.. isn't this plane supposed to be further developed from a advanced trainer to a lead in light fighter, as well as a navalized version? surely you need radar for that. Can't they stick the AESA that they are planning to put in the Kizilelma into the Hurjet? it should be in a similar class.

edit: Koreans are sticking the AN/APG-83 from the F-16V into their version of the Hurjet(KAI FA-50). Can't Turkey stick the AESA from the Ozgur F-16 upgrade into the Hurjet?
