Meanwhile, Vidit Gujrathi and Arjun Erigaisi are playing against Alexander Predke and Hikaru Nakamura to compete for the top 2 spots in the Grand Swiss Chess Open. This tournament is important because the top 2 players qualify for FIDE Candidates. Prag has already qualified for the Candidates as he was runner-up in the Chess World Cup.

An even game so far between Arjun and Hikaru and on the other side Vidit is looking in a good position.

Vidit wins the final game to win the tournament and qualifies for FIDE Candidates. Arjun could only manage a draw against Hikaru but he'll get another chance in the FIDE Circuit. Vaishali (Prag's sister) wins the women's Grand Swiss as well to round off a great Sunday for Indian chess.

Vidit lost the 1st round but then won 7 off 10 to finish at the top. Amazing winning streak!
