India and UNSC permanent seat

it's not about GDP or population

China will send india to UNSC when U.S send iran

I'm glad that you are not the representative of your country in the UN, so we still have a fair chance to get into UNSC.

India is buying multi-role aircraft to replenish our aging fleet of Mig-21s, India is building a blue water to protect our trade routes from external threats. You can't concentrate on internal development without securing the external borders.
And if this answer is tough for you, then here's a simple version of it Because we can afford to.

which external threat you are talking about...??

"You can't concentrate on internal development without securing the external borders."
i think if Pakistan do the same, india will not have any objections...

We're going to veto India's bid because we can and have the power to. That's all. We may also nominate Pakistan as a candidate for future security council reforms. Muslim countries need a representative, and what better one than Pakistan?

Can you back your claims with some links ??

Indonesia,Malaysia,Turkey,UAE,Oman or even saudi arabia, watch from the wider perspective.

There is lot off difference b/w internet reality and on the ground reality..the sooner you realize the better..besides that can you quote a source where Chinese govt has claimed that it will veto India's bid and support pakistan to become the permanent member?

Obviously they won't say that openly until they are forced to actually use it.

No need now... since not one single P5 member has actually promised to give India veto power. :azn:

Until then, stalling is a good tactic. It can be stalled forever if needed, and vetoed if it ever actually gets through.

Do tell,

when China was being made a permanent member ..was there a debate..weather it should be given the permanent membership but not the veto power??

Has any country said permanent membership and veto power are mutally exclusive of eachother..and only either one of them can be provided?

Has any country said, that it will support India to become a permanent member but will not give it veto power?

Like I said, not one single P5 member has actually promised to give India veto power. :azn:

Btw, China was one of the founding members of the UNSC. First represented by ROC and since transferred to PRC.

Currently, the P5+1 represent the so-called "great powers".

Again you failed to answer the very basic questions, I asked..and continue to carry on rhetoric!!
But the bottom line is that, No country has promised Veto power separately..because being given the permanent membership and being given veto power is one and the same thing.

Veto power is one of the privileges that permanent members of UNSC enjoy!!
