What's new

Surjeet Sing, not Sarabjeet Singh to be released clarifies Pakistan.

if zardari wants to hurt PAKISTAN's interest Army should come and stop himg.simple.

Very sad news.. Taking back hope at last moment is not good. Our politicians should notice that. Pakistan ball less army is good for these things.

I'm sure your army has tasted our balls on many occasions. Keep crying bharti scum.

Another display of political circus by Pakistan, they say something and then back off on the promises.

India should learn a lesson now and should never try enter in any deal on any matter with Pakistan. It's all just a losing proposition.

fvck off , Aman ki asha!!

Lmao gtfo you bharti clown. Let Amar Kasab go, for aman ki asha.

LOL.

now surbajit should be hanged to please the 14 families who lost their loved ones. Terorrist should never be pardon.

I am not sure we want to release a terrorist, at least not this one. But there is another terrorist we would like to hand over to India. His name is Asif Ali baba Zardari and his band of forty thieves. Any takers from the Indian side ?

A. Sarabjit is NOT a Terrorist. He isn't even a Spy.
B. He is a Farmer and a Part time Liquor smuggler living by the Indo-Pak Border.
C. Sarabjit was drunk and had strayed off the border when he was caught by Pakistani Forces and falsely indicted in some Blast case.
D. He has a family, a wife and two daughters, who were both very young at that time.

We don't even know who the manjit singh, the name on the trail in Pakistani court is. And in a million and half blasts and Terrorist attacks that happened in Pakistan, this blast had a name, which is manjit singh and an eye witness claimed that this poor man was the guy planting the bomb. NOT surprisingly, he later retracts from his statement made in the court and claims he was under the pressure of Pakistani police to give his testimony in the court against Sarabjith Singh.

There's a level to which People can take this BS from any country.

what can be better than an Indian scapegoat for Pak establishment. But this case is unfair even by Pakistani standards. They arranged an eyewitness some how and even he retracted later. I think we should try bribing the Pakistanis. if you can sell nuclear secrets for pearl necklaces, you can certainly sell an Indian prisoner for the right price.

That's Pakistan justice for you, the country where a rape victim can be punished for adultery.

Pathetic lives and related frustration. Nothing surprising here with Pakistan.

LoL, another example of the famous Pakistani Statesmanship and the omnipresent supremacy of civilian government in Pakistan. What a circus!!

What can you expect from an Army which uses asymmetric warfare. brainwash kids to spray bullets on civilians at railway station.

well I feel good for the other guy who is getting released, but indeed Pakistan should act more wisely and maturely. Military obeys the Civic body, but in Pakistan, they run parallel to each other and cross eachother ways too.

To be fair, it is quite possible that there was a genuine mix up. Didn't pay much attention last night but watching Indian channels today replaying the comments of the Presidential spokesperson from last night (to suggest he conveyed a different message) where he spoke about someone whose sentence was commuted from death to life in 1989 and who then served 21 years of a life sentence which suggests that he was talking about someone different from Sarabjit. He may(?) have made a snafu with the name of the prisoner but not, it seems, of the facts.

Open to correction if I am wrong on the above.

we dont release indian terrorists....it sends out wrong message........internet hindoos created the hype on the internet without reading that it was surjit and not sarabjit....dumb indian media followed the internet hindoos and broke the wrong news.......imo its time we hang the terrorist so that ends of justice are met.

Any news confirming that Zardari had commuted his sentence?

The guy has been tried and found guilty, appealed and found guilty. Has confessed at one occasion to bombings that claimed lives of many Pakistanis.

He will not be released.

Any news confirming that Zardari had commuted his sentence?

What a mess !

Sarabjit’s death sentence commuted to life term

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari commuted death sentence of Sarabjit Singh into life imprisonment on Tuesday. Sarabjit Singh, who is in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail, was convicted following bomb blasts in Multan and Lahore in 1990. He is expected to be released today (Wednesday). His family had appealed to Zardari for his release. Separately, Law Minister Farooq H Naik has signed a summary for the release of the Indian prisoner. The law minister forwarded the summary to the Interior Ministry with the instructions that the Indian prisoner be immediately released as he had completed his jail term. Singh, 49, an Indian spy, has been languishing in Pakistani jail since 1990 after being sentenced to death by a court for his involvement in bomb blasts in Multan and Lahore. President Asif Ali Zardari has changed Singh’s death sentence to life term and the presidential spokesman has confirmed it. India last month released a Pakistani scientist Dr Khalil Chishti on humanitarian grounds. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had requested President Asif Ali Zardari, during his private visit to New Delhi, to take measures for his release.

Later, the Presidency in a clarification said that the president had commuted death sentence of Sarjeet Singh, and not Sarabjit Singh.

The names sound similar, there was obviously no mal intent at play. The state of Pakistan gets no jollies in bringing up hopes of the Sarabjit family and then bring them down.

Farhatullah Babar is a useless person and his boss is a mental patient anyway. This is not a reaction to anything at all and conspiracy theorists bringing PAs name into this might as well hold a "I'm insane" poster.
