What's new

South Asian countries GDP-what need to do?

I found clip about capital, Raipur City. So I think about tier 4 city, Bhilai how many look like.

btw, ALOK31, check your bro actually visited Sri Lanka

Chhattisgarh was founded 10 years ago and new Capital city is being built for that. You have to wait for few years. In the past new planned capital cities like Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Bhubhneshwar were constructed.

bro i already told u search u tube video u easily find bhilai video.:coffee: bhilai is only manufucter of railway track in india by the way i only ask u simple question how many steel plant in ur tiny island have or ur country only depend of foriegn assistance and tourism .i have no problem with with sri lanka but i don't like when some big mo#th sri lankan try to compare their tiny island with india .

Foreign assistance

Sri Lanka is highly dependent on foreign assistance, and several high-profile assistance projects were launched in 2003. The most significant of these resulted from an aid conference in Tokyo in June 2003; pledges at the summit, which included representatives from the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Japan, the European Union and the United States, totalled $4.5 billion.

I don't understand why you're talking about a steel plant, is it a symbol of prosperity over there? Also don't understand why u think there is no steel plants in SL.

I don't have issue with this city, ALOK31's comments made a curiosity. That's all.

Only thing I know about Sri Lanka is the Ceylon Tea. I believe it the strategic location of Colombo port that is the main reason behind Sri Lanka prosperity just like strategic location of Singapore.

approximately 20 to 25 years before 70% Indian population was employed in agri sector

today that number has fallen to 45%

this number will be further reduced

and currently India is suffering from Policy Paralysis

but even then its annual GDP growth rate will be 6 to 6.5% in 2012 according to experts

we have much better, much larger industrial capacity and much bigger economic base than all other south Asian nations

nations with bigger economic base tend to have comparatively lower growth rate

ex.> in early 1990s Indian GDP growth rate was 11%(average) and since last 2 years it is 6 to 7%

but now our economic base is 4.5 to 5 times larger, than that in 1991-92

so once reforms are introduced and decision on FDI is taken (which will be taken in this moth,as sources tell) our growth rate will be back to very good from good :)

That will only ensure more people to be forced back to Agro sector.

^^??

my data clearly shows % of population dependent on agriculture has reduced by 23% in last 20 to 25%

and with growing service and manufacturing-especially manufacturing sector- this number will be further reduced

my data also showed by India's growth has slowed down

Let's be honest Alok, Sri Lanka has done better than India, despite a debilitating war which ravaged the island for over 25 years.

Sri Lanka is Asia's oldest parliamentary democracy with universal suffrage for both men and women since 1931 and parliamentary government since independence from British rule in 1948. The world's first woman prime minister was from Sri Lanka.

No doubt. SL is much better off politically than we are. Though their economy might be small, so is their size. However, this simply shows that their politicians have some bit of national conscience unlike robbers, thieves and rascals (in the famous words of Winston Churchill) that rule India and maybe Pakistan.

if you take the current situation of GDP per capita...

srilanka: $5,700 (2011 est.)
Pakistan: $2,800 (2011 est.)
India: $3,700 (2011 est.)
Afghanistan: $1,000 (2011 est.)

If you take GDP per capita growth:

SriLanka: last couple of years 3 to 7 %
Pakistan: 0 to 3%
India: 3 to 7%
Afghanistan: very high growth 8 to 20%

ill post the links for u to check it out

pakistan: GDP in Pakistan

South Korea

In 1945 the adult literacy rate was estimated at 22 percent; by 1970 adult literacy was 87.6 percent and, by the late 1980s, sources estimated it at around 93 percent.

Having almost no natural resources and always suffering from overpopulation in its small territory, which deterred continued population growth and the formation of a large internal consumer market, South Korea adapted an export-oriented economic strategy to fuel its economy, and in 2010, South Korea was the seventh largest exporter and tenth largest importer in the world

In 1980, the South Korean GDP per capita was $2,300, about one-third of nearby developed Asian economies such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan. Since then, South Korea has advanced into a developed economy to eventually attain a GDP per capita of $30,000 in 2010, almost thirteen times the figure thirty years ago. The whole country's GDP increased from $88 billion to $1,460 billion in the same time frame.
