Singapore School Vanishes In Vietnam Metro

Cool! can you speak vietnamese? is your father swedish?
I heard that currently 15,500 Vietnamese study in Australia.

I can speak some, not much, probably enough to order stuff in any vietnam restaurant and ask for direction. :)

Funny enough, my ma don't like to talk about the old days in Vietnam. And she don't generally speak Vietnamese except when she was in a vietnamese restaurant, order something like pho bo or pho ga or something like that.

My wife is swedish, my dad is Mexican American.

Can authorities coordinate with Singaporean police to solve this case through Interpol?

Did Vietnam signed cooperation order with Interpol otherwise they can catch the guy in Singapore but they cannot be extradicted back to Vietnam.

I think just ask him to give back the money to the students, that's enough.

BTW: Nice to know you are a man of UN: you are related to Australia, USA, Mexico, Vietnam, China, Sweden and...Hungary...

No refund, but as the article says the students received email from the school director, that they can continue their study in the Singapore branch. It´s nice to have many passports, but some countries including Germany do not allow dual or more citizenships.

If the money is in a non-extradictable country (Like bahamas or Switzerland), the money is gone....What the guy do to compensate is another problem.

Having multiple citizenship does not mean you need all of them passport. Applying extra passport only cost you money. Multiple citizenship is nice tho. You get to enjoy every benefit from each and different nation.

I guess, some foreign schools miscalculate they will get permission later from the Vietnamese authority (through bribery for instance), so that is the reason why they offer unallowed cources. Since VN government steps up to crack down corruption, that is a hard time for those who violate the laws.

Again, Singapore still remains my favorite country after Vietnam. :yahoo:

I wouldn't jump into such a conclusion so fast without having sufficient evidence to prove that! That will be a gross injustice if later prove that they were actually "misleaded" due to miscommunication, ambiguity of information, inexperience liaison officers, change of laws and regulations etc.

But I do agreed that they "probably" deserve the penalty since after all, they are the investors and they should do all their necessary homeworks to ensure what they are doing in other country is 100% fully legitimate to avoid any pitfall. BTW, they have paid the price for their mistakes or wrong doings.

Lastly, we hope that everyone involved in these sagas could learn from these lessons so not to repeat the mistake again.
