What's new

Nirbhay Cruise Missile test failed.

Pakistani failure's usually happen in the workshops and development areas.. The idea is to screw up soo many times while making something.. so when the time finally comes to test it.. you've already messed up as bad as you could and there is nothing really left to go wrong which you haven't "tested" already.. hence.. they usually work.
every nation go through failures in those two stages as well as testing stage, but for Pakistan they choose not to publicize any failure, I don't know the reasons.

hahaha i really enjoyd readin da replies uptill page 8 lol

hw everyone was waitin min by min then som even celebratd it but later it wz declared a failure lol...

da suspence part was funny:P

anyway better luck next time!

You should not make fun like this for things we hold close to our heart..

Pakistan has one we are trying, give us some leeway... :argh:

What people forget is that the range also depends upon the efficiency of the turbojet, fuel fraction.. and warhead size.

but people also forget that more the lighter warhead more difficult it is to keep the missile on path. Size is not the problem. Fuel fraction and propulsion tests are first done on land and when they pass tests then it is tested on missile. Range will be increased later on. It was only the first trial

If you are expecting a failure to be given as the deviation of flight path.. or explosion on the stand.. those never happened.

In Babur for eg.. the initial missile test fired was soo simple in its guidance.. that it might have been called a RC aircraft with a jet engine and a 3 axis autopilot.. And that was that.
It simply depends on the R&D policy..
do you take a huge plunge.. or do you take a dip and declare yourself all ready..
Pakistan does the latter.. many "operational" declarations have been with half ready systems.
So that a "statement" is made first before the actual deal.

It has an advantage of keeping failures lower.. and giving a false impression that Pakistan is capable.

First of all earlier reports stated the range to be 1200 km.

Second thing is payload . If nirbhay carries more payload than babur , it is bound to be bigger.

Range is 1200km only when it carries a payload of 250kg or so.

And it can carry 450kg warhead but that will bring down the range to 750km.

Basic cruise missile aesthetics.................:yes4:

Nirbhay

length 6 meters, (babur 6.25 m (7 m with booster)
diameter of 0.55 m, (babur 0.52)
wing span 2.7 m (2.67 m for babur)
launch weight 1,500 kgs. (weighs almost same as babur ,but has higher range )
It can carry a payload of 450 kilograms. (compared to baburs 300kg)

That is all correct.. but the stated max range depends on maximizing the fuel fraction..

Aesthetics?
What has the looks to do with range to payload issue here?

What people forget is that the range also depends upon the efficiency of the turbojet, fuel fraction.. and warhead size.

If the turbojet engine proves to be good then the GTOW of the missile and fuel weight can be calculated beforehand no biggie.

It's all good, failures are a part of life.. I just pray that they close the issue as soon as possible.

And why are we comparing it with Babur? If ISPR is to believed Babur is flying and operational, Nirbhay is not!
