DELL or ASUS laptop ???

hi guys

im planning to buy a new laptop thought i would take some suggestions before plunging my money into any thing

heres the first one

DELL 5521

Dell inspiron 5521-0378 (Intel core i7 3517U 1.9ghz, 15.6 Inch, 1 TB, 8GB Ram, Windows 8). by Dell and 2GB graphics (model of graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 8730M)

asus N56VZ

ASUS - N56VZ

core i7, win8 pro, NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 650M with 4GB DDR3 VRAM, 1TB HDD, 8GB ram upgradeable to 16GB and a backlit keyboard too

the point where im confused is which one to go for,,,,,for me simply the asus in specs looks better but what im concerned is of its long run like are they reliable and how is the overall user experience

i've used dell, HP, samsung, and sony vaio but never tried asus, so im kinda too confused and even more coz i dont know any one who has ever had or has an asus to take feedback from so if u guys know any one or have one, can please help

any suggestion on any other brands would also be welcome

the min. specs must be an i7, 4gb ram, 2 gb graphics

I don't know about Asus, but I have a Dell Vostro and the build quality is AWFUL.
The battery died within two months (got a free replacement, which also had problems).

On the plus side, it packs a lot of horsepower for the money.

yes you are right, here companies use dell in offices

but the thing is im a student and im kinda into gaming, plus the dell is too heavy !!!

get the better graphics card, 2gb doesnt mean sh!t btw
just google the two models (650 and 8730) for bench marks and get the better one

I cant believe you have the luxury of choosing these two high end laptops IN UAE???
I mean in terms of computers uae is the absolute worst place on earth, i had to go through the ordeal a few weeks ago and couldnt find a single laptop with more than 630m.Not saying I'm not satisfied but UAE is pretty bad for gamers.

DELL is best and good. In India, DELL servicing is superb. Its just excellent . Dunno about in Pakistan. But my lap is war torned DELL Studio and trust me its still working fine for past 4 years

Dell is gone and dead poor battery life and over heating issue is each and every model and bulky design ruined the company and products. Asus is far better even google for dell products problems and you will see the complaints. Even if Asus is a few thousand expensive buy it you won't regret, coming from an old dell veteran user, I have ditched dell forever.

there is a minor difference between the 2.......so even u suggest asus (nice).....yeah ur right there are alot of problems !!!!!!

im sorry to say pal but service aint every thing.....avoiding service is the real deal....im currently using a dv5 since the past 6 years its epic but from luftwaffe's suggestion i googled the probs there are many !!!!!

what are the cpus? exact model pls not just i7
