Definitely Asus, I run my laptops/computers hard, I've had 3 Dells over 2 years, my current Asus has been going for well over a year now.

Yeah it is 17 inches .so a Bit heavy .You might wanna Look at Alienware laptops for Gaming .But they are Pretty Costly. This one is Pure Bang for the Buck..

hi guys

im planning to buy a new laptop thought i would take some suggestions before plunging my money into any thing

heres the first one

DELL 5521

Dell inspiron 5521-0378 (Intel core i7 3517U 1.9ghz, 15.6 Inch, 1 TB, 8GB Ram, Windows 8). by Dell and 2GB graphics (model of graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 8730M)

asus N56VZ

ASUS - N56VZ

core i7, win8 pro, NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 650M with 4GB DDR3 VRAM, 1TB HDD, 8GB ram upgradeable to 16GB and a backlit keyboard too

the point where im confused is which one to go for,,,,,for me simply the asus in specs looks better but what im concerned is of its long run like are they reliable and how is the overall user experience

i've used dell, HP, samsung, and sony vaio but never tried asus, so im kinda too confused and even more coz i dont know any one who has ever had or has an asus to take feedback from :undecided: so if u guys know any one or have one, can please help  :)

any suggestion on any other brands would also be welcome :)

the min. specs must be an i7, 4gb ram, 2 gb graphics

into gaming?? go for Alienware laptops ...

you are right but if you would see the M14x has the same graphics card GT650 but 2 GB compared to asus 4GB !!!

but certainly M14x is now an option too :D as the price is almost the same too

DDR5 is Way faster then DDR3 cards. Dont go by the 2GB or 4Gb. 2gb DDR5 will give Better Frame rates then a 4gb ddr3.

Its a no brainer . If you need a low power usage laptop for Internet and office go for dell it has a low power cpu and low power gpu but you trade raw power on the system for a light laptop with long lasting battery . On other hand the assus have a quad core cpu and moe powerful gpu but its battery last less and the laptop is heavier.

You here if I'm not wrong are comparing a traditional notebook with an ultrabook
