We are Muslims and we should believe in the teachings of Islam, if Islam has this kind of strict punishments then so be it. And most of the problems in Pakistan are mainly because of Justice not being done properly. The whole point of beheading is to make an example out of the criminal and create fear in the hearts of others so they will think twice before committing same crime. And to me, those who do a crime knowing its punishment truly deserve it. Who told these idiots to do an armed robbery in KSA at first place?? Why blaming the system at the end?

Hanging is fine, many countries do it. Beheading is just weird.

It is much more humane that hanging. You dont feel a thing. If you look at the angle the sward is being wielded, it will cut of the spine before it gets to the arteries up front. Once those nerves are cut the rest is not felt at all. In any case it happens so quickly I doubt any one feels anything. As to the public it must be harrowing and this is what is meant to be conveyed.

Yar I guess we are talking about two different things here. I never said that I favor Death Punishment for Armed Robbery, its not part of Islamic laws but its KSA law. Now whoever breaks this law in KSA, knowing its punishment is beheading, deserves it.

On the other hand, I was talking about beheading as a punishment in Islam, people whine a lot against it and call it barbaric and level blames on Islam for such kind of punishment. I am in favor of this punishment. Death punishment is not for just killing a person, its for making a strong statement about the consequences of doing a severe crime.

1a. How many Americans, Britishers, Germans- in fact pretty much the western world - have been beheaded by the government of Saudi Arabia?

1b. What is that number compared to Indians, Pakistanis- in fact pretty much citizens of third world countries?

2a. How many Americans, Britishers, Germans- in fact pretty much the western world - have had their arms or legs amputated by the government of Saudi Arabia?

Due to the same "civilized" methods to control crimes, every second woman in the west faces sexual assault including rape, this is just one example do some research and you will find out that the total crimes in KSA in one year are less than total crimes in any of the "civilized" western countries in one day.
