Now India is expanding its embassy in Islamabad

Pakistan is the least trusted country in India

care to reveal your sources? Or is this another rabbit you have pulled out of the hat.

Outside a small coterie that is anti Pak & an even smaller group that is for Indo-Pak friendship, the average Indian is very passive about Pak. You walked away from us and yet after 60 years you keep looking over your shoulder, guesstimating how India perceives Pak. Fact is majority have forgotten you in the din of daily life & moved on.

And why does Indian embassy in Islamabad need 10 acres of land for security?

To answer the why of it.

Pakistani spies helped Kabul bombers, US says - Asia, World - The Independent

US has evidence ISI was involved in the Kabul Indian Embassy bombing. Why is public memory so short?

You may want to massage your ego a bit. Maybe do a little jig for having gotten a jab in at the "arch-rival", but do sit down and contemplate what it means for your state.

The offer of more land could be Pak's way of saying sorry. Since US too got land, it may be extracting its pound of flesh in the cat fight between India-Pak.

because other "friendly" countries don't need so much security paraphernalia. Get it?

If there is an attack on any embassy in Islamabad, give me the top two targets you have. Exactly.

Some folks find bad intent in every peaceful gesture their own government tries to make. I don't know how anyone can be so critical of everything.

sounds reasonable,but logically thinking,we still feel a little strange,haha:blink:

Yeah US has evidence as it has of Iraqi WMD:devil:

There's no concrete evidence that ISI was involved in Kabul bombing just a piece of article from U.S., which posts anti-pakistan propaganda every other day in their media.

Theres no mutual intersts between Pakistan and India, we share the most territorial disputes with India and India was the only country we had wars against. There's no good that could come out of this extention of indian "embassy" which includes indian commandos and indian security guards in PAKISTANI soil.

Disputable but I will give you that.

Theres no mutual intersts between Pakistan and India,

China Vietnam trade ~30B USD
India Pakistan trade ~2B USD
comparing roughly same economies.
There is a lot of mutual interest that the likes of yourself want to overlook.
And I know 1984 you are not even going to look at this trade potential, because you are not reconciled to India Pak peace. So let me jazz it up a bit.

we share the most territorial disputes with India and India was the only country we had wars against.
the disputes are entirely of your own making. India is a status quo power.

On India being the only country you fought a war against let me take you back to the proxy war you fought for the US vs USSR.

You fought a proxy war against India/Iran backed Northern Alliance by siding with Taliban.

47-48 & 65 were fought over Kashmir.

'71 was for the Bengali's right to what's that .. self determination

so you have been fighting pretty much everyone you could pick up a fight with.

You got to be kidding me. Iran? Are you serious? Iran is one of the peaceful friendly neighbor we have the other peaceful friendly neighbor is China. Google Pakistan-Iran-Turkey rail link, if Iran and Pakistan had bad relations they would never had allowed a Pakistani train through their country into Turkey.

With Soviet war, we helped Afghanistan get rid of the Soviet invaders and almost every Muslim country participated in the war against the Soviets not only Pakistan.

Bangladesh was not a country before 1971, so its just India we had wars against.

P.S. if india is a status quo power it would still be run by the british.

Yes,i agree with you,i think it's kind of connivance policy in some way.

Walking on same grounds we just helped the Bengalis for the brutalities of Pakistan in Bangladesh.

Oh, it's nothing to worry about.Soviet Union had a huge embassy in US and same for US...You know very well that it will have several eyes on it ;)..might as well bug the damn thing although there are chances of getting caught so humnit is better for surveillance of embassy.

The churlishness of your responses continues to amaze me. How long before did you don this strategist cap?

Iran is one of the peaceful friendly
Iran has been accused of facilitating a Shia insurgency in Pak

to jog your memory & this is very recent:

peaceful friendly neighbor is China
China is a marriage of convenience vs India. I dont read too much into it.

Yeah yeah! and once the Soviets were evicted you honourably withdrew and Afghanistan has been a peaceful democracy ever since.
Dont kid me with your ignorance. US turned away once it was mission accomplished, then you moved in for strategic depth. Afghanistan still suffers from the wounds Pak inflicted.

Bangladesh was not a country before 1971, so its just India we had wars against.
Yes but the way the Bengalis rose up against a military genocide Bangladesh would have come about one way or the other. India merely hastened the process.

Alas! This is the gory truth behind the partition. Had the two world wars not forced Great Britain's hand I doubt India would have been 1947. There may have been no partition, in line with other countries that later got independent.

As I read through the thread, I have as yet been able to descern the "why" answered in the posts from our forum members.

Why is the increase in size necessary? What upcoming events will the larger embassy serve? What about these unfoldoing events have caused concern to even our most trusted ally?

Pakistan has no major problem with Iran and we have no disputes with Iran. Pakistan-Iran relations are working fine.

Pakistan is still on the Iranian pipeline deal.

Ask the people in the streets of Karachi, who is Pakistan's best friend. The reply will be China.

Afghanistan was never our responsibility after we helped them get the Soviet invaders out of Afghanistan, Pakistan was a developing young nation back then and still is, but every country wants a good relation with its neighbors, well maybe except India. So we tried what we thought would bring the two countries closer.

The same way Kashmir will come about one way or the other so dont bark at Pakistan if Pakistan hastens the process.
