Indian push of 60,000 insurgents followed by an attack on E. Pakistan back in 1971 was no better than

bunch of hijackers destroying Twin Towers
or
Beardo Mullahs attack on civilians in Mumbai.

Indira made a HUGE blunder back then and so many Indian posters and analysts fail to understand the implications and continue repeating foolish victory, just like Talibarbarians dance after mumbai, or Palestinian extremists dance after 9/11.

If Indian posters want respect for Indian borders,

then learn to respect other country's borders too.

Thank you.

Are you aware Fauji that India pushing in insurgents in East Pak was in 1971?

This was after Pakistan pushed its SSG as mujahideen to incite revolt in Kashmir in 1965. That operation failed, after which regular PA had to attack.

Now whether Pakistan considers the LC as violable or not is upto them. Even back in 1965 India made it clear that an attack across the LoC is the same as attacking India at any other place.

India merely replied back in the exact same way that Pakistan did. The only difference is India succeeded while Pakistan failed.

Why to crib over it?

Are you talking about some Historical FACTS?
Or just venting some OPINIONS?

India pushed insurgents in the states of Hyderabad and Junagadh because base populations were majority Hindus (or non-Muslims).

This was followed by INdian army going in to demolish the princely states.

Pakistan did the same with the princely states of Kashmir in 1948.

So compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges.

I guess you forgot about the militant support provided from E. Pakistan by Pakistan to our North East rebels before 1971.

India did not push in insurgents in Hyderabad.
It directly used police action.
An independent country cannot exist right in the middle of India. Just not feasible.

Pakistan did the same with the princely states of Kashmir in 1948.
So compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges.
Again, do compare apples to apples.

Im not talking about 1948.

Im talking about 1965.
Operation Gibraltar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Operation Gibraltar was the codename given to the strategy of Pakistan to infiltrate Jammu and Kashmir, a disputed state between India and Pakistan, and start a rebellion against disputed Indian rule. Launched in August 1965,

India merely replied back in the same coin in East Pakistan 6 years later in 1971.

My question stands. Pakistan tried it before us. We learnt from Pakistan and employed the technique successfully.

@FaujHistorian you do understand that if the policy you are following is failing and actually causing you the intended harm. You must learn from the mistake and pick up a better policy.
From all the available data,
Pakistan started with 1948 "tribal fighters".
Repeated the same in 1965.
India showed how it is supposed to be done.
Pakistan has been trying ever since.

What have you gained?

All three - 26/11, 9/11, and 1971 E. Pakistan/Bangladesh - involved Islamists who invoked their religion to justify massacring civilians.

Please learn about 1971 and India pushing 60,000 insurgents across international borders into E. Pakistan.

Now tell me if India was pushing "Islamists" into E. Pakistan.

hahahah

India did not push in insurgents in Hyderabad.
It directly used police action.[/B].
.

Noops. Indian supported insurgents destroyed bridges and created lawlessness in the princely states of Hyderabad and Junagadh.

So please learn your own history.

Again. You mentioned apples to apples.
I repeat. Pakistan tried to incite revolt in Kashmir in 1965, India tried to incite revolt in East Pakistan in 1971.

What is the difference?

What's the point of this conspiracy theory, which is not even a good one ?

1948 Kashmir push by Pakistan was ditto copy of what India did to Hindu majority but Muslim run princely states.

p.s.
If you know me, I have written against any push through LOC. So you don't have to convince me on that.

The purpose of this thread is to make Indian posters realize that crossing international borders is a bad bad idea unless approved by UN and done by international force (in extreme circumstances).

1. Reply to my last post. What is the difference.

2. Why are you telling this now. India no longer is into this. We stopped after LTTE fiasco. It was a learning lesson for India.
