Angry India tells US 'times have changed' after diplomat spat

Sigh - she is no one. She did not work in the mission where inter-governmental relations are handled but in a consulate handling visas and things related to people and business. So she would know squat.

And beyond that, you can think whatever you want about me and I do give a damn about it.

Honestly though , do you really think your point of view is more credible than the former Ambassador to U.S ?

Oh...you, some random guy knows for sure what her role was...interesting

It does not take a random guy to know this. Looks up the difference between a mission or an embassy and a Consulate. The office she worked was in Indian consulate, NY.

The Maid in question is the one who falsified the Visa despite having a separate agreement with the Diplomat . She was nice , dandy and happy for 7 months and dissapears for another 6 months were American govt. outright refuses to talk and then creates a Drama 6 months later....

Then why is Devyani afraid of appearing before the US judiciary? She can put this line of argument in her defense and if she is found innocent, she will have the right to sue the judiciary. Why such run and hide game on her part? If someone is so innocent, he/she cannot be afraid of facing justice. It reminds me of the Asaram bapu case in India.

Looks like the whole Diplomat Row is out of Media , think the govt. has asked the media to keep silent or maybe we are closer to a solution .....

You can stop your long-winded defence. The US seems to have decided to give the lady full immunity.

Nope- turns out we knew exactly what we were doing

Be it as it may, shouting won't solve the issue.

The bottom line is that the lady lied to the federal Gov't, she ought to be prosecuted loosely.

And you know if she knew and did not know sensitive stuff because you know the difference between 'embassy' and 'counselate'. And you are a legal expert too. And the diplomats with decades of experience don't know what they'r doing.

she is a diplomat of India...and is entitled to all rights a diplomat is conferred with under Vienna convention to which US has obligations to fullfill.

as far as Head of state is concerned....US authorities did not spare even our beloved President...he was frisked like an ordinary person...by your stupid staff !

This is a mark of US arrogance ....even that time US have had to apologise ....

and even now US will have to let our diplomat go ...

I have no idea whether or not India president being frisk by the US law enforcement. Also India president get a pat down is irrelevant to this criminal case. There aren't any correlation with this case.

Everyone is opinionated here in this forum and if you ask me what I think - Yes, I am being objective with my POV. Not sure what the Ambassador to US has said.

The maid was not deported to India as the DoJ had to make sure the victim remains safe and sound till the final verdict comes out.

The very fact that you pronounce that she is victim tells that you have presumed her innocence ...
this is the main contention that US authorities have taken sides without having full insight into the case ... and in the process they have acted in haste ..

what about the maid's letter that has surfaced in which she says that she has been treated well ...and she has lot of free time....

this maid had joined her duty with an agenda ...because she left the job within 6 months of employment....she treated the diplomat as get way to US and she has succeeded completly by getting US green card for herself anf her family with free ride to US....

Gosh that maid has got more brain than all the idiots in US justice department ...who acted in haste to evacuate the family as if it is a great humanitarian crisis ...!!!

This whole episode would turn out to be - A Maid who took US for ride ....

And you are an expert as well trying to come up with a strawman argument that she knows stuff.

There is relevence ....that is US arrogance in which it treats others...

will US president be happy to get pat down ??? will ever US allow that ...

Do answer this one specific question....I am interested to know your opinion ...

Asaram Bapu has nothing to do with this , The very point is to not face U.S judiciary , since we believe the entire case is an entrapment ,going through the judicial system will be a failure on India's part....

The Maid made a fool out of the state and the DOJ...smart woman

According to the case, the maid remains a victim.

All should agree to let this case be resolved through the judicial process and thereby upholding the justice system, no matter wherever it is.
