Pakistan to buy six Type 041 Yuan-class diesel-electric submarines from China

If and when our scorpenes go in for an AIP fitment its probably going to be the MESMA.:(

Stirlings are just simpler in their design, been around longer and for some reason instill more confidence.

What of the Chinese AIP, any insights?

Rumoured to be of Stirling Cycle. Again, for the reasons that its just something everybody knows about.

Not too sure about that. DRDO had said hydrogen fuel cells.

V. Bhujanga Rao, DRDO director general (naval systems and materials)
On the air independent propulsion (AIP) system, which will considerably enhance the underwater endurance of conventional diesel-electric submarines, Mr. Rao said talks are under way with French firm DCNS to install the DRDO-developed AIP based on hydrogen fuel cell on the last Scorpene submarine built at Mazagaon Dock under the Navy’s Project 75. “Our technology is proven on a land-based prototype. A submarine-based prototype plug weighing nearly 300 tonnes is now being worked on. The French MESMA AIP being offered for the Scorpenes is an old system with a steam turbine,” he said. The DRDO AIP can be reconfigured for the second line of future conventional submarines under P75 I as well, he added.

I hear you but what was the point of acquiring ToT if we can't even design our NG submarine ???
ToT may add to your new knowledge base but it doesnt mean that you can simply go up and design something new without spending on R&d and your knowledge base.
e.g india got ToT on dozens for projects from aircrafts(from russia) to towed artillery from BAE yet it hasnt been able to design much of indigenous weapons

Pakistan should invest in Ballistic missile / Nuclear power subs half of subject requisition, AIP subs specially Chinese origin may not good as compare with agosta 90B class. we should go for German subs.
Can any one differentiate Agosta 70 Class AIP & 90B AIP.

There isn't much money to spend anyway. The best way is to increase revenue through taxation and spend in on solving energy crisis.

Taxation definitely but those taxation should be upon every small-medium-large companies/factories/cooperates local and international operating in the Pakistan [but nawaz got vote from them so he won't], than tax the richest people [nawaz won't]since it is not related thread I can't write more here but there are many ways taxes can be imposed instead of taxing areas where common people can't pay.

All local and International companies that are incorporated pay taxes. I can assure you on that. The main black hole in taxation is from the agricultural land owners. And since these people are in the parliament, they wouldn't want to tax themselves now would they?

They are not paying enough just look at how companies pay taxes in China and india and even Africa, companies in Pakistan pays more to government than to the national treasury thus here comes corruption when that money is never registered to have been taken. How much tax do you think government collect from unknown unseen companies that produce plastic material including plastic bags that you see in every big/tiny shop and even rari wala? these are hidden billion dollars companies working in Pakistan without notice or being notice but kept low profile and the only benefit is to the government again corruption. My friend think deep you'll know there are companies operating that we don't even care or think about yet they make billions and pay zilch zero. Anyway back to Topic.
