Azerbaijan Defence Programs & Military Development

The reality is that Russia has emerged as Azerbaijan's biggest partner, and this will continue to grow according to official statements, so I'm going with that. No matter what some random forum member (like K_B) tells you.

How? It cannot even be branded as "fourth-generation", does that tell something?

I'm sure it's not as simple as that, or something the decision makers wouldn't think of.
My point is that Russia isn't a reliable partner. They have so much money invested in Armenia that they would support it till doomsday. They will screw you over during a war with Armenia know doubt about that. They need Nagorno Karabakh to stay as part of Armenia because it keeps Turkey and Azerbaijan distracted in the southern caucasus. Russia will support armenia no matter what and that's why it is better work with other countries instead of Russia.

His point is that Turkey produces all of those or will in the near future.

I think JF 17 could also be a logical choice as a base for TFX project, both Gripen and it are logical choices.

@DESERT FIGHTER

You can of course market these products in many places, I'm simple saying that Azerbaijan is already meeting it's demand from other countries (sevgili leginin tersten anladığı sözüm). With regards to your overly exaggeration about their capabilities, that is perhaps understandable, but I don't think many others would be convinced of that.

Yeah we make crappy Chinese BS.

I'm sure our industry will survive without the addition of Azerbaijan's name to our long list of satisfied costumers. ;)

Exegeration>?if these were exagerations.. countries wouldnt have bought our weapons.. nor would Pak export 800 million dollar worth weapons... despite us not investing much money and marketting and even not taking orders due to a war in our northern territories and a weak economy as a result of it..... im not a salesman .. nor is Pak dying for other countries to buy its products ...

I know this is going to sound soo cliche, but I think Azerbaijan should join the the T/FX project.

The only contribution a 4th Gen combat aircraft can make to a 5 Gen program is that it can be used as a test-bed for 5 Gen avionics.

I think Turkey can use F-16 as one.

@Dillinger

Am I right buddy ???

Actually its pretty much clear that they're going to use Gripen, process is going to be same as T 129, USA would no way would accept such demand for any of its planes, we will do it just like T 129, take full rights and cooperation for a platform and enchange it as much as you can with your own ability. We took the A 129, the final result only hull design(and not even it is completely same) is same between T 129 and A 129.

It is about the inventory that the country wants to hold; you can sell your products to small and poor countries; however, you cannot sell your products to some countries like Azerbaijan, Turkey or some other western countries, that is the point you ignore and go into offensive mod.

You should just get over it, for it is not only you WHO face that ugly truth.

Azerbaijan needs what can beat Russian weaponized Armenians.

Both T-129 and A-129 belong to the same generation. You can improve the generation that's all. Take F-18 for example, They succeeded in reducing it's RCS but the Super Hornet is still not a 5th Gen aircraft.

Pakistan sold us the technology for our SOM if im not wrong, they are years ahead of us in missile technology dont underestimate them.

I don't remember reading anything about generation on TFX issue :undecided:

Saw when I looked at wiki :D I was just checking official site whole time :D

I don't know, but its known they're going after Gripen, or may be not Gripen but Saab ? I don't know I have little information on this subject.

Our weapons are here to fight the biggest and most professional Militaries in this world.

Armenia is just a small piece of land. we have fought and won histories biggest Armored and Aerial battles and we know what quality standard is required to fight such battles so don't lecture us about quality.

Our Pilots were shooting down Russian Aircrafts even before Azerbaijan came into existence.

Armenia uses Russian products, so my point is about the products not the country itself.
India also uses Russian products and our weapons are there to fight India.

As @DESERT FIGHTER said, we are not PAC's salesmen and we're not here to convince you guys that your country should buy our product but if you are trying to question JF-17's ability to combat any Mig-29 variant that armenia has then i'm here to correct you with proper analysis if you wan't to learn.
