Large number of Chinese troops seen heading for China-Vietnam border

China has had the same claims for 70 years and frequently acted on its claims, including numerous skirmishes with the Viet and Phil. Nothing has changed really since then. It does not matter whether China's historical claims opened Asia for US incursions or not.
China will strategize based on its own priorities. Today, regional politics revolves around China's actions or inactions. That's the result of China's growing power. The only force that can compete with China is the US. And the two sides are now playing their cards through proxies. That the proxies are pro-China or pro-US does not matter. They are side shows and what really matters is the result of the great power game. That's still up for grabs.
Basically, it all comes down to geopolitics. Whoever plays the game better and whoever has enough resources and
stamina will probably get the prize.

wrong.its not about the claim anymore.Chinese Ships are ramming Vietnamese Ships and obstructing them in International Water.do you even know what that means??it means both country are now at state of war.now,as China signed UNCLOS,that means they're violating their own oath that they'll provide safe passage to every country's ships and will decide the boundary based of discussion.even if we say that both Spratly and Paracels are Chinese land, even then, the rig is in international water.China has no right to ram another ship in international water, nor can it block other ships.plus, its in an intersection of both country's EEZ.why would China place a rig which is inside Vietnam's EEZ without any discussion,if China has sane intentions??its not Philippines and Vietnam are intentionally asking other countries to protect them.its because China already forced them to do it.

Vietnam..SU provided jets.China based them and send few thousands engineers to Vietnam to repair infra.within 10 years,China sent tens of thousands of troops to capture the country.not a major move in that respect.

India is still following NAM.USA is not our enemy.we faced USA's 7th fleet in 71.but then again,we barely have political interest beyond our region.though it is growing now a days.
:rofl:You did nothing when millions of chinese died for against the NATO cowards in Korea (80 against 1)

You are too scared of the americans to provide even 1 rifle to an enemy of the USA

wrong.it was UN backed troops, neither NATO,nor US.China fought UN backed troops, not a thing to be proud of,when China is one of the P5 members of UN.so,your false bravado on this topic will bring more shame for China.

plus, why should we fight against USA when we've no problem with them???India is still following its NAM policy.

It's true that large quantity of China soldiers and tanks mobilized to borders near Vietnam.

Vietnam did the same in case China wanna place pressure onto us

So don't say China do nothing, it's rather India

in which International scene China ever intervened apart from Korea, which was 65 years ago??

Right, and please remind us again how the 7th fleet attacked you and how you defended yourself against it!!

Not yet, Cam Ranh bay is still used as a place to repair and serving ship . If China keep pushing us, we will welcome US 7th fleet to dock there .

if that day were to come, I wonder what my governments response would be to such an offer.

So basically there was no fight, no attack and no attempt to attack India at all, right? And the moment India sniffed the possibility of an attack you called in the Soviets to help pull you out.......doesn't that, then, means that it wasn't actually India that faced the 7th fleet but Soviet Union?

Then, should you still make tall claims? I mean, in all honesty, you do know what the 7th fleet would have done to your country had they actually attacked, do you?

why is chinese guys always talk about war,why cant they live in peace.or is it that they vent their frustration here, which they cannot do any where else in life.

Pot calling the kettle black I see. How many wars had you had since Independence compared to China? So I ask you the question, your own words, "You cannot do anywhere else in life?" even if that's gibberish in my own standard.

Tell which war we started
