The Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) is the most numerous tigersubspecies. Its populations have been estimated at 1,706–1,909 in India, 440 in Bangladesh, 163–253 in Nepal and 67–81 in Bhutan.

Bengal tigers may weigh up to 325 kg (717 lb) and reach a head and body length of 320 cm (130 in).Several scientists indicated that adult male Bengal tigers from Nepal, Bhutan, and Assam, Uttaranchal and West Bengal in northern India (collectively, the tigers of the Terai) consistently attain more than 227 kg (500 lb) of body weight. Seven adult males captured in Chitwan National Park in the early 1970s had an average weight of 235 kg (518 lb) ranging from 200 to 261 kg (441 to 575 lb), and that of the females was 140 kg (310 lb) ranging from 116 to 164 kg (256 to 362 lb). Males from northern India are nearly as large as Siberian tigers with a greatest length of skull of 332 to 376 mm (13.1 to 14.8 in). In comparison, a weight range of 150 to 189 kg (331 to 417 lb) is considered fairly average for a male African lion in the Serengeti.

the heaviest known tiger which is also a Guinness book record holder to be a biggest tiger ever in wild was a huge male killed in 1967 that weighed 388.7 kg (857 lb) and measured 322 cm (127 in) in total length between pegs, and 338 cm (133 in) over curves. This specimen is on exhibition in the Mammals Hall of the Smithsonian Institution.

The Siberian tiger (Panthera tigris altaica), also known as the Amur tiger, is a tigersubspecies inhabiting mainly the Sikhote Alin mountain region with a small population in southwest Primorye Province in the Russian Far East.

The largest male, with largely assured references, measured 350 cm (140 in) "over the curves", equivalent to 330 cm (130 in) "between the pegs". The tail length in fully grown males is about 1 m (39 in). Weights of up to 318 kg (701 lb) have been recorded, but according to Mazák, none of these cases can be confirmed via reliable sources.Mazák indicates the typical weight range of historical Siberian tigers as 180 to 306 kg (397 to 675 lb) for males and 100 to 167 kg (220 to 368 lb) for females.

In 2005, a group of Russian, American and Indian zoologists published an analysis of historical and contemporary data on body weights of wild and captive tigers, both female and male across all subspecies. The data used include weights of adult tigers, i.e. those that were older than 35 months of age and were measured in the presence of authors. The results of this analysis indicates that the average historical wild male Siberian tiger weighed is just 215.3 kg (475 lb) and the female 137.5 kg (303 lb); the contemporary wild male Siberian tiger weighs 176.4 kg (389 lb) on average with an asymptotic limit being 222.3 kg (490 lb) it is contemporary small compared to average bengal tiger. Historical Siberian tigers and Bengal tigers were the largest ones, whereas contemporary Siberian tigers are smaller than Bengal tigers. The reduction of the body weight of today's Siberian tigers may be explained by concurrent causes, namely the reduced abundance of prey due to illegal hunting and that the individuals were usually sick or injured and captured in a conflict situation with people

bengal tigers are more aggresive than siberian tigers because of the greater salinity of the waters of the Sunderbans

ya but they are also very small compared to Siberian, only thing which make Bengal tiger slightly smaller than Siberian on average are tiger from sunderban & south india, north bengal tiger are averagely bigger than Siberian, kaziranga national park may hold the biggest cats currently walking the planet

fully grown Bengal tiger weigh same as Siberian!!
What a wonderful animals.... sad that we are pushing it to extinction!!
once these apex predators are extinct i.e Collapse of Food chain!!!

I think the Siberian is bigger. But just look at the power of the Bengal Tiger, takes down an adult female gaur so easily (which is 2-3 times its weight)

By the way Siberian Tigers are known to frequently kill Kodiak bears (Russian version of Grizzly bears). Kodiaks are the second largest terrestrial carnivores after the Polar bears.

all big cats can do that excluding cheetah and other smaller ones!!! one that I love most after tigers are leopard (stealth, jaw power) sometimes they can even take down a prey 4 times its own weight...

Siberian in captivity tends to grow very large but in wild they rarely exceed 220 kg mark, probably because of lost of habitat, latest study shows that Siberian tiger are ranging between 180 to 190 kg for male with few 230+ kg giants in wild, compare this to average male from central & north india especially from nepal & kaziranga that are well above 300 kg, i will post a link later of the study

here are some giants from india estimated to be between 280 & 320+kg
