What's new

Pakistan Army tested its air defense to hit the drone

RBS already tested and RBS not suitable to take on high altitude targets becoz its usual role is to take on anything on medium range and drones usually fly at very high alltitudes and RBS 70 inducted 2 years before no more tests on RBS has to be spada 2000 becoz it is medium range target finder sam system.

oh thanx for info than what is use for practice when u r shooting easu targets flying low

:disagree: it will be better for you to learn first rather flood every other thread for which the answer is available with a click of a button.

This is stupid.

Lolz...the AAD have been warming its guns on 'drones' since long now, these drones (as the news called it) are small crafts that can fly at a very low altitude and being inexpensive they can be blown if one wants to have some actual taste of targeting.

These crafts are used 'in lieu' of actual fighters so that the gunner is given a close-to-real experience when it fires at it!

These 'drones' have nothing to do with RPVs or UCAVs...lolz... i thought sama news was a guud news channel, but it actually sucks!

This news by the TV channel is just a kind of story which appears in afternoon newspapers with the aim of creating mere sensationalism rather than actually investigating into the matter.
I think before starting the new thread the weight of the news should be realized.

it willl be better for u to have a respect for other members sir otherwise we also know how to respect others and disrespect those who deserve it.

if taliban can shoot down a predeator then i am sure PA can too..

So chill..

Actually Taliban can never shoot down a predator drone, it flies at altitudes way beyond the range of anti-aircraft guns, cannot be shot down with SAMs as it has a negligible heat signature. Even if we sent a fighter after it it could only shoot down the predator with it's guns, with sparrow, again there is no heat signature and as for AMRAAM, the predator has a very minute radar cross section for the AMRAAM to lock on to.

yes till now noone have shoot down any american drone in afghanistan till date

To those who had no experience with US combat UAVs, and I have, it is extremely difficult to be aware of one even when it is orbiting over head at half of its service altitude. Auditory? Good luck. You are in a group of people with clanging equipments, motor vehicles with engines running, conversations going on and whatever else. You are also looking on where to put the next step lest you fall under the load you are carrying over rough terrain. Or how about you are in intense focus on placing an IED or helping to create one. The next thing you know -- KA-BLOOEY !!! -- and it is not from an IED accident but from a Hellfire missile.

Just to remind, PAF did shot down an Indian Israeli built UAV (Searcher I believe was the name) around Lahore with a US built A2A missile, i believe AIM-9 series was used.

So UAVs can be shot down with A2A WVR missiles.

it isnt very difficult to hit a dron,PAKISTAN already using a short range infrared seaking missile which is operated by single person or two,to launch.and PAF have already downed a neighbourhood dron in 2002.
then y PAKISTAN need another seprate system to kill drons.

PEOPLE USE A LITTLE SENCE

According to Sir Muradk the pilot almost stalled his jet while trying to shot down the Indian Air Force UAV as it was flying way below the F-16 stall speed so it took a lot of hard work to keep it in sight, lock and shot it down.

Best is to shot down a drone with another drone.
We need to build light weight drones with guns.
