Bring Back [IMG][/IMG] !!

I don't get what the problem is. You see an image, just right click - copy and paste here

No need to go for tags

I have confirmed that this works. To clarify @Sinan 's advice, when you click on the "choose file" button, just paste the image URL into the file name field, and the image will be uploaded. Then click on the "insert full image" button next to the attachment to embed it in the article you are posting.

@WebMaster Can some programming magic automate this process for us, i.e. simply convert the IMG tag into an attached file that is embedded in the article at the point of the tag?

Just copy the image link, click Image attach dialogue in upper right corner. Instead of hot linking, Image will be hosted locally on forum. I don't know what's the ruckus. No need to use Upload a file options. Process of attaching and hosting locally is done automatically by software

@WebMaster ,@Horus

Please bring back guys! Its miserable to see mere links where we used to see the pics!
You can encourage members to attach images in the future!
Sir please switch back to old way you threads are being destroyed Sir for God Sake
practical reasons actually.....
Any military (or any random) pics that 're inlined from other sites go blank when that site removes those pics.In short if img tags are allowed then we would have hundreds of military threads without any image...and how good are military weapons details and specs without its image??
I think Admin has taken a very smart step to save his site. And trust me he's the smartest admin I've come across.Lolzz.

If I am right then PDF is using XenForo. I haven't worked with it but I am sure that there would be a workaround already or it can be crafted now to display previous IMG and ban recent ones.

Another solution I would suggest that instead of banning IMG altogether, let it work and craft a backend solution to detect IMG tags and then save them as local attachments. It could be a difficult task but disabling IMG tags here which is core functionality of all forums CMS isn't good.

I am willing to assist in anyway possible to develop such a solution.

Already working on this!

Webby can you one day fix those threads below that in total have got over 500.000 views (if not 1 million views) and many thanks and which were excellent threads? Now due to the current rule of updating photos they have basically been destroyed. Most of the photos were uploaded from flickr.

I am aware of this and will be fixed!

For now stick to the method provided.

That's very encouraging to hear. I thought that there was nothing we could do because we are obviously unable to edit old posts. Do you have any time schedule for when this "problem" will be dealt with. Just curious.

Thanks, this is being fixed. My battle report threads were all turned bland page after page writing with just links.
