Nagaland Separatist Movement

These types of rules are giving play ground to the Foreign countries.

Look at Kashmir where is the same rule applies. No Indian can merry, purchase property or settle there. Same is with North East, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar etc
In the northeast only Assam and Manipur plain areas is not applies the rule. Any Indian can buy the land .It is the hill areas which is restricted .

It's great that we are actually talking to these guys. The situation in nagaland in the 80s and 90s was absolutely brutal. Lets see what the outcome will be. Personally i'm not that hopefull. Neither side is willing to compromise on the issue.

One major reason why this separatist movement is been raged for over 50 years is because of the church. Not the catholic church mind you but the American funded evangelical churches. These pastors believe that Nagaland is christ's country in a sea of non-believers. Like Israel, it has been chosen by god to guide the rest of the world. This bs propaganda is going on unchecked and brainwashing a significant section of the population. The only people who are trying to counter this is the Catholic church. But considering that at least 95% of the population in Nagaland is protestant, they obviously won't succeed.

What people don't know is, the slogan for the separatist movement for a long time has been "Nagaland for Christ". The NSCIM cadre carry a rifle in one hand and a bible in the other. Right wing religious nutjobs. They come in all religions whether Islam, Hinduism, Christianity and Sikhism. One more reason why India would be better of without religion altogether.

Sir, can you please tell me about NSCN-IM and the NSCN-K forces. I have heard the separatists are split in these 2 groups and are mostly at war with each other.

LOL..did someone actually call the Dalai Lama a terrorist? hahaha - i can certainly see the similarities between him and Osama

Indian PM meets Naga rebels to end insurgency

NEW DELHI: India’s prime minister met with Naga rebels on Tuesday in an attempt to end one of the South Asian nation’s longest-running insurgencies in the remote northeast, a rebel spokesman said.

India is offering wide autonomy to the group though it has already rejected the rebels’ demand for an independent homeland in northeastern India bordering Myanmar, where most of the 2 million Nagas live. The Naga rebels began fighting more than 50 years ago, although a cease-fire has held since it was signed in 1997. Imcha Longkumer, a spokesman for the National Socialist Council of Nagaland, declined to give details of the rebels’ 40-minute meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. There was no immediate official comment on Tuesday’s meeting. The five-member delegation of rebels was led by National Socialist Council of Nagaland General-Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah.

However, G.K. Pillai, the federal home secretary, said last week that there was no question of accepting the rebels’ demand for a sovereign homeland outside India. “It is also impractical to redraw state boundaries to facilitate the Nagas living in northeastern states to live together. ap

Nagaland is well on its way to peace, just like Mizoram. There has been peace there for the last 10 yrs with all militant gps comming over grnd. Indian Army fought insurgency successfully for 60 yrs and it was the deep desire of the civil society for peace which have led to talks. NSCN leaders have realised that there can be no seperate Nagaland and now are trying to solve the problem politically. All indications are that there will be a compromise with greater autonomy for Nagaland.

the assamese community consists of a no. of tribes,..they r very simple but brave people....n u can say almost everytribe has a extremist group.....cause..no money ,no jobs, bad education, bad governance....nscn is one such group...started for the betterment of the people but eventually has become a terrorist organisation who only thrives for regional power....

You know it's ironic how some Indian members rejoice on our Balochistan (Non) issue, in contrast, there are perhaps a dozen insurgent and separatists movement either brewing or coming to head in India. Which other country on the planet has so many disgruntled citizens.

(1) You do not know anything about nature of these movements.
(2) Do you really want us to name other nations and start a flame war.

I know you are a better person than that, but since some Indian members always rejoice on Balochistan, what is your perception.

The Balochistan issue, according to me is just blown out of proportion by our media. I dont think, in my personal opinion it is that big a movement. Similarly your media has spread this nonsense that there is an uprising in 1/3rd Indian districts. Its pure BS.
The separatist movements in North East has no backing of people. Its just a bunch of pissed of rebels.
The maoist uprising is not separatist in nature. It is for better governance. The government has taken it up seriously and and will be crushed gradually. The government realises that most of maoist rebels are victims of bad governance and injustice, and wants to win them over by peaceful methods. But if that will not work then :sniper:

The Maoists are present in 1/3rd of the districts of India with varying degrees of power in these. No point being an ostrich and denying it. But they are not separatists - they are similar to the Nepali Maoists or the Fidel Castro brand - which seeks to overthrow the republic and make India a commie nation. The Fidel Castro - Che Guevara images conjure a certain romanticism in the neo-liberal wankers appearing on TV channels.
