Lahore bombings planned in Afghanistan

As I've said time and again, no one is pointing Ghauris, Shaheens and Baburs onto you guys yet. If you think Pakistanis are exhibiting an overkill level of aggression right now, wait till that situation ever arises.

No need to point. Most Pakistani missiles are any way pointed this way..

I dont think Pakistan is being over aggressive. Its the standard reaction to what happened a couple of days back. And as I said, the 1st time its publically proven India is behind such an attack or Pakistan is behind an attack like Mumbai, a war will be the only answer ...

I will volunteer... lol... the eternal promise of cowardly cyber war mongers.

Folks encouraging war while sitting in the comfort of their sub urban homes in the west are worse than the ones who put money on Cockfights willing one to win against the other while not realizing that they are condemning both to death..Thankfully GoI and GoP are not as mindless..

No Thankfully shankfully , ab ye drama nahin chalay ga mister

Nations go to war to secure their objectives and to eliminate threats , right now indian presence is afghanistan is being used against Pakistan and our Government and the Armed Froces will have to move against this threat sooner or later.

We as citizens of the state , DEMAND IT!

But again, if Pakistan already believes the Afghans are aiding and abetting terrorism in Pakistan, there is little 'diplomatic advantage' left to be gained - in such a scenario Afghanistan has already shown itself to be Pakistan's enemy and willing to support terrorism in Pakistan.

OK point taken.

Therefore at a strategic level it only improves Pakistan's position by removing sources of terror, since the GoA would be anti-Pakistan before such Pakistani action and anti-Pakistan after Pakistani action.

If you are referring to Indian embassy as the target that you want to take out, let us look at loss vs gain. The people in the embasy will die and the building will be in shambles. Pakistan scores a few points with its country men.

Then added to loss of face in the international community plus the strain in Afghan- Pak relationship you will face the possibility of diplomatic isolation.

Leverage in Afghanistan whatever little left will vaporise.

India on the other hand will get the international community behind it and corner Pakistan in international bodies.

India will set up the embassy/ consulate and work will progress as usual after a brief lull. With Pakistan out of the way in Afghanistan, with new security apparatus to rebound offence, Indian interests will have no challengers.

Just as Pakistan ensured India does not have an invitation in one of the Afghan stake holder meeting, India will repay in kind.

Do you think the actions you are contemplating is worth the effort?

Well, you guys thought the GoI would launch strikes against Pakistan. But did that even happen ? NO. You can interpret the same about India. About Pakistan launching attacks, to tell you the truth, this is just TRP material and will not find takers even within the Pak army.
Don't underestimate your enemy, especially when it is much bigger. We were prepared for war given Operation Parakram in 2001, and Pakistani preparedness was amongst the reasons Op. Parakram did not go beyond a massive mobilization phase.

As for the actual attacks - the Indians are not foolish enough to run terrorist programs out of their diplomatic missions in Afghanistan where they would be easily detectable and provide a smoking gun. Any such terrorist supporting program is likely to be covert and the response to it is also likely going to be covert, if such responses have not already occurred.

The leverage of 80% of supplies flowing through Pakistan is overused.
We all know that alternatives exist. The leverage you can argue is the cost of logistics. When a war is costing a few hundred billions a further escalation by a fraction is a call for the stake holders to make.
Alternatives at far greater cost and difficulty exist, and that cost will not really be one the West is going to pay just for the sake of India, hence my focus on using that leverage WRT India, and not the West.

If Pakistan were to take on the West directly, then the cost of the alternatives would be something the West would be willing to pay, but they have no interest in doing so for the sake if India -- so yes, the leverage is extensive in this respect.

It has to be proven in Pakistan, thats it. For example if this news is true and there really is a mastermind caught, then there will be hell to pay for what you guys did to Lahore.

We don't need any country's certificate of approval to defend Pakistan.

You are wrong Asim. Zardari, Gilani and even Kayani does not have it in them to get into a war (which they cant win) without a convincing proof that they have moral high ground. Because the only victory for Pakistan here can be to hit India and then world forcing a ceasefire while agreeing to Pakistan's side of story. Pakistan just doesnt have the resources or might to maintain a full blown war with India for more than a few weeks

On the covert side, it still wouldnt work as two can play the game.

That's what scary, what Indian been happy blast after blast in Pakistan and now they start feeling the heat. Because hate travel faster then the speed of light. Remember those hand feed the line some time hungry lion bite back the same hand.

So thats status quo.. As these actions and reactions keep going on no matter what..

Not plausible Agno.. A few billion dollars per year for the sake of assured Indian support in virtually every single global discussion will be a steal for the west.. No brainer..

On 22nd Jan 2009, INDIA handed over to Afghan authorities ZARANJ - DELARAM highway built by it in the face of stiff resistance from Taliban, vowing that the collaboration between the two countries in the field of development will not stop.

Yes, but Pakistan has no choice to deal with these lions and they by now learn to deal with. But how India will cope it. Hope this tit for tat game ends.

I thought that is what we have been saying from 1990. Remember JeM, LeT, JuD... The list is quite long.

Sir.. I believe that India will not have to as it is not doing what everyone on this thread is accusing it of...
