Christians living in fear in wake of Agra church attack in India

Christians are living in fear of more attacks as Hindu hardliners continue to target Christian facilities in India, with the latest incident involving the desecration of the St. Mary's Church in Agra.

A statement released by the Archdiocese said: "Christian institutions are deemed sitting ducks by these fringe elements and deliberately targeted by them to further their vested interest. This has spread fear among Christians and we feel very unsafe in our own motherland."
But the article which I have posted these things are not there. Are you posting an off topic article here ? The article which I have posted says that Hindus are persecuted in Pakistan. Are you posting off topic ?

I'm messing with you. Their genuine concerns should be addressed ASAP.

Sab mullah ka kamal hai bhai.
pata hai... :)
but I dont understand why people need to keep blaming others but dont take actions.. many things we get in the world are pure luck like somebody played russian roulette on behalf of us...apart from your genetic makeup, almost anything can be changed, nationality and religion included. If the guy is too poor and illeterate I can understand, will not even know his options.

As I keep telling my countrymen; whether Muslims in India are elevated to some messianic status or nailed to the cross, nothing gives us the right to mistreat our Hindus for doing so is against all norms of civility and fairness, it is against the explicit commandments of Our Father - Muhammad Ali Jinnah and is completely at odds with our religion.

So far as Pakistani Hindus not being allowed to join the Army till the 2000s or the Intelligence community is concerned - I don't know; maybe @Icarus or @Xeric would be able to confirm that ! As I understand, the only thing that happened post 2000s was a concentrated effort to recruit more ethnic and religious minorities in the Armies and not that ethnic or religious minorities were barred from being recruited pre-2000s.

Additionally the Army's own press-release (dated March 23, 2014) mentioned Ashok Kumar as a Shaheed so I dunno where the author got that from. The press-release can be accessed here: https://www.pakistanarmy.gov.pk/awpreview/pDetails.aspx?pType=PressRelease&pID=192

What you are trying to say is this is not a problem. It is by default inherent to the society there. If he does not like it leave ?

And the "secular" India is the shining example of religious harmony....

The militants also tried to set fire to one of the churches by throwing burning rags inside the building. The police responded quickly and extinguished the flames before the fire spread

The answer to your mocking is highlighted in your own response

The problems related to religious harmony in India are increasing by each passing day, especially after the extremist hindus have been elected to the govt. This needs an immediate attention. The world must take notice.

Millions of Indian Christians Forced to Choose Between Faith and Government Benefits for 'Untouchables'

Millions of Christians in India from the lowest caste system, known as "dalit," are being forced to choose between their faith and receiving government benefits available only to "untouchables," a report has said.

The International Christian Concern noted on Sunday that there are close to 25 million Dalits across India who've converted to Christianity, but now must make the choice between maintaining their faith or benefiting from a government program that only helps them if they identify with their Hindu background.

Earlier last year my Friend working as a call center manager resigned his job and migrated to India with handsome cash in hand, the guy returned after a year and half spoiling all his assets and started working again in another call center.

he faced more discrimination in India then in Pakistan. the bottom of the story is " Now he Hates India":rofl::rofl::rofl:

You are absolutely right. Every Pakistan regardless of religion must have same respect in the society.

But intentions of this thread starter is not because he is feeling the pain of those people and want to have a serious debate, he just wants to troll.

Therefore, you can spare your energies on debating with this troll, ;-)

UN and USA must hear the plea of poor Christians being persecuted by extremist hardliner hindus.

Radical Hindus to Christians in India: Convert or 'Get Ready to Die'

Radical Hindu nationalists closely aligned to the Indian government warned Christians in Punjab state late last year to prepare to convert to Hinduism “or get ready to die,” according to a complaint before a U.S. federal court.
A lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York calls on the U.S. government to designate as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO) a radical Hindu organization with close ties to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ruling party.

Late last week attorneys filed an amended complaint in a case brought by an advocacy group called Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) against Secretary of State John Kerry.

The amended document adds three additional plaintiffs, two Christians and a Muslim, who claim to be victims of a forced conversion campaign carried out by the Hindu group RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, or National Volunteer Corps).

The three say that threats by RSS radicals determined to forcibly convert minorities to Hinduism have increased since Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won India’s general election last year.

Modi, a generally highly-regarded leader whose high-profile visit to Washington last fall was reciprocated when President Obama traveled to India in January, was once a full-time RSS activist, and the RSS is viewed as the BJP’s parent organization.

The complaint claims that Kerry ignored an SFJ appeal sent last December urging him to designate RSS as an FTO under U.S. law.

It wants the court to issue a judgment declaring RSS to be an FTO, for “practicing a fascist ideology and for running a passionate, vicious and violent campaign to turn India into a ‘Hindu’ nation with a homogeneous religious and ethnic identity.”

The complaint cites a recently-released report by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), an independent statutory watchdog, which criticized India for violations and recommended it be placed on a second-tier watch list of countries which the U.S. should closely monitor and encourage to reform.

“Based on the evidence and recent report of USCIRF, [the] Obama administration is bound under law to declare organizations like RSS as terror groups,” SFJ attorney Gurpatwant Singh Pannun said in a statement after filing the amended complaint.

In the court documents, the Christian and Muslim plaintiffs describe death threats for failure to convert and forced reconversion ceremonies.

“Prominent leaders of RSS have stated the party’s policy, goal and aim as there won’t be a single Muslim or Christian left in India,” according to the complaint.

Open Doors, a persecution watchdog group, ranks India as No. 21 on a list of the world’s worst places to be a Christian. According to their analysis, the new Hindu government is radicalizing society.

“All traditions of Christianity are affected by persecution in India, but Christian converts from a Hindu background and non-traditional Protestant groups are suffering most. At the top level the influence of fundamentalist Hindus has increased. Hindu radicals have started monitoring Christian activity in much detail. Many of them have planted spies in churches. Reports on pastors and church members beaten because of allegations of conversion are frequent; sometimes Christians are even killed.”

Kerry’s attorneys, however, say neither SFJ nor the court have the authority to force the secretary of state to designate a group as an FTO.
