US Government vs Congress: Sale of F16s to Pakistan

Well I love summer and I know most of people in UK long for sunny days but they seldom get and travel to sunny places like Spain.
I know Goras are crazy about Sun, but if u have ever spent any time in Pakistan you would be hating sun too. Summers are very harsh here. Zaid Ali T summed all this up very nicely in some video. Brits are obsessed with weather forecasts.

I lived in Pakistan and yes the summer are hot there but we travelled to northern areas (Bahrain, Kalam) and that was most joyful time with dozens of cousins and living in a village of camps..a lot of fun...

The deal is on the table. The F-16s is Pakistan's to have. The only difference is that Pakistan will have to pay for all $700 million of it.

Turkey is a NATO ally. Pakistan is not. US will not allow Pakistan to have AESA-equipped F-16s whether Pakistan pays for them or not.
turkey is developing ITS OWN

yes , like USA gave AIM 120 to Pakistan.
it would if we ask for it, whther we pay or not!

Jump up and down all you like. However, there will always be some course of history that will then again put Pakistan in a situation of getting the F-104 star fighter...and you will just squeeze back in your hole.

So Pakistan bases it's policy on chance and wishful thinking on the lines of..."there will come a time in future.." Good to know... Quite poor planning though if I might comment.

You aren't a student of history, it seems like. Please rejoice the fact that poor pakistanis are knee deep in their poor plans. please inform everyone, especially boost the morale of your pilots, if they have recovered from the trauma of the flying coffin. We would welcome the expertly planned Indians at the air border, with flowers in our hands.

Poor Planning: Yes, as poor as your defence deals including Rafale.

AESA is not in Pakistan's plan for the F16, and none has been requested. AESA is in service in Pakistan in ground and airborne radars. Air Intercept Radar AESA shall be standard kit on BlockIII JF17.

The Pakistani Block 50 F16 is a capable machine to reckon with. The MLUed Falcon is no less capable to address all current threats. By the time some of India's current war plans materialise (no where in sight), counter strategy would already be in place. However, you can go climb a pole.

Seems like I hit a nerve.

Did I comment on the India side of things? Did I comment on Rafales? No! I know exactly what IAF is doing and what it is not. If an Indian would have made such wishy washy comment like yours perhaps I would have been on his case to.

Just a parting comment - Planning is not all about threats. That would make you at best a reactive air-force. A good planner would try to put enemy on the backfoot and make him react to your objectives. I see no evidence of any pro-active objective based planning in PAF unlike in '65 curtsey of US.

Your current fleet is quite indicative of the teeth PAF has, numbers do speak way louder than hollow boasts.

My Boy from across the border, numbers have never scared us before. How does 1: 3.5 sounds like? That was what my trainers fought. How does 1:5 sound like? Thats what we fought in 1971. However, 08 of something put your whole diplomatic corps in action. My nerves are too old and calcified over to be hit by boys in knickers. Pakistan still holds key and strategic advantage in more than one field, though India's rapid expansion of conventional forces is rapidly eroding into it. The strategic conventional mix does the trick ,and I am unable to reveal any plans for your liking.

Hahaha...the irony. Isn't that what the Indians do all day on PDF?

"In 3 years we will have Rafale, and PAF will be decimated!"
"In 5 years, we'll get the s400! Pakistani airspace will become a no-fly zone!"
"In 20 years, we will have Vindaloo powered rockets!"

Araz, that reference to a pole has no dancing in it, though some can dance after it if they like.
Birader e aziz
Baal aapkay akailay he nahi sufaid huay hain. I just made light of a situation. Having been in the dishing out business of instruments of similar nature though for medicinal purposes only, I can assure you very few even the most enthusiastic dont dare to dance with one shoved up where the sun dont shine.
However to get away from the gory business,do you see this business resolving or are we going down older air frames route.
Regards

Ironic isn't it, the country offering weapons to defend your sovereignty is the same country using those weapons as leverage to violate it.
