NEW DELHI: The Border Security Force (BSF) said on Friday it killed 15 Pakistani Rangers while retaliating to a ceasefire violation on the international border in Jammu and Kashmir.

Yesterday, too, one Pakistani Ranger was killed and another injured in retaliatory firing by the BSF, as Pakistani troops heavily shelled five sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border. One BSF jawan died yesterday and 13 civilians were injured.

Since the surgical strikes by the army on terror launch pads in Azad Kashmir on September 28-29, five Indians, including four security personnel, have been killed and 34 injured in ceasefire violations.

On October 21, the BSF killed seven Pakistan Rangers and one terrorist opposite the Hiranagar sector in Kathua, in which one BSF jawan was injured.

On October 25, at least two-three Pakistani armymen are believed to have been killed in retaliatory firing by Indian troops in the Noushera sector of Rajouri district.

Pak violates ceasefire in Jammu, Rajouri, Kathua

Meanwhile, Pakistani troops continued the ceasefire violations today with firing and mortar shelling on Indian posts and civilian areas along the LoC and international border in Jammu, Kathua and Rajouri districts, leaving a girl injured.

BSF and Army have responded "appropriately and befittingly" a defence spokesman said.

"There was unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army in Sunderbani, Pallanwala and Nowshera sectors of Rajouri and Jammu districts today," the spokesman said.

They used small arms, automatics, 82 mm mortars and 120 mm mortars in the firing and shelling, he said.

"They are being responded appropriately and befittingly. No casualties to our troops have been reported," he said.

Firing and shelling continued overnight along the international border.

"At 1720 hour yesterday, Pakistan Rangers started unprovoked heavy firing and shelling in Katgus Sector of Jammu which further spread to Hiranagar and Samba.

"It continued till 0500 hours till today in area of 24 BSF posts," a senior BSF officer said, adding the BSF responded strongly after which the firing stopped.

"Some Pakistani posts and villages have suffered heavy damage, he said.

On the Indian side, a girl was injured in the ceasefire violation, the officer said.

Indians and there claims !!!!:omghaha::omghaha::omghaha:

Which ever caliber you use we respond in same manner. This is policy for really long time.

It is not about the calibre of shells

It is the amount of firepower that we can rain down on your side

That is why Pakistan is hesitant to open up the Bigger Artilerry

Since we have Thrice the Numbers of soldiers and Weapons
we can saturate any area from multiple directions

In EVERY Clash on the LOC ; It is India which Wins and Pakistan has to retreat and stop

By this speed there will be no rangers left in 3 weeks... byt than again...

Why is Pakistan saying none of their men has died in last 15 days of firing, while 5 BSF jawans died in the same time.

We are already responding in same caliber. Who told you we haven't used 105 MM artillery now. The weapon you fire us on with is responded by same caliber weapon. @DESERT FIGHTER

Pakistan has been firing at Indian posts along Loc since morning; multiple ceasefire violations in a week

JAMMU: 15 Pakistani soldiers have been killed as Indian troops retaliated to incessant firing by Pakistan along the border in Jammu and Kashmir in the past week, the Border Security Force (BSF) said on Friday.

Two Pakistani Frontier Force soldiers and 13 Rangers were killed, suggested an initial assessment by the BSF.

"There are ceasefire violations repeatedly, we are giving a befitting reply. As far as our people have seen, what we have assessed is at least 15 rangers have been killed," said senior BSF officer Arun Kumar.

Exactly a week ago, seven Pakistani soldiers were killed along the International Border in Jammu by the BSF.

Firing has been on for the last 24 hours in Rajouri, Samba, Abdullia, RS Pura and Suchetgarh, officials said.

Heavy shelling from Pakistan began around 5 am along the Line of Control in Nowshera, Sundarbani and Pallanwala districts. Yesterday, BSF soldier Jitender Singh, 46, died when Pakistani Rangers fired a mortar shell in RS Pura sector.

Three BSF soldiers have been killed in Pakistani shelling in the last five days.

Areas near the border have been on high alert because of a spurt in firing from Pakistan in the past few days.

"Yesterday, unprovoked ceasefire violation continued till night. It again started at three places this morning. We are giving them an appropriate response," said Defence Ministry spokesperson Manish Mehta.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh had on Thursday urged the BSF to give a "fitting response".

Over the last week, a six-year-old child was killed and 30 people were injured in shelling.
