India seeks new naval fighter to replace rejected Tejas LCA

I dont understand the point of criticism. Building a Naval Jet is no joke. We built Marut, want good we again Tried with LCA .
We didnt get good results with LCA Naval version, but its a WORKING , I reapeat Fully Functional Naval Jet.

Once must consider that though they never got operational but Mig 1.44 , F/A 23 , Lavi all served a Purpose.

What purpose did Mig1.44 and Lavi serve?

And what about it?

I have already entirely debunked the premise of this nonsense article- the IN NEVER wanted the N-LCA as a frontline carrier fighter, they are supporting it (and will induct >40) for training, OCU and validation purposes. The technologies and capabilities devloped for the N-LCA will be applied on the N-AMCA which will be in the same class as the Rafale. Or does the IN adhere to a different set of rules to all other navies? They should be operating lightweight single engined fighters just to suit petty pride? They have a manadate to secure the nation's interests and thus are opting for a medium class twin engined MMRCA which the last time I checked the N-LCA was not.

So, what is the point in discussing this any further other than to satisfy your fragile ego? You are just looking for ammunition to use against the LCA and are clutching at straws, it was understandable a few years ago when there were legitimate issues with the project but now it is in service, production is being ramped up and a more advanced variant is soon to enter testing. It is beyond pathetic what you are now doing.
Give them a keyboard and they are expert in every field, did you even read the OP, it certainly doesn't carry my name as the author, the article published by a highly reputable source with yesterday's date, wonder who is desperate to prove otherwise.
If you really want to go there, tell me why your superior JF-17 is yet to have a twin seat variant? An intergrated HMSD with off-boresight cueing? A naval version?
JF-17 has been inducted for it's original purpose, the twin seat was customer requirement and will make an appearance near future, the naval version is also flying with the associated squadron....and as it enters next phase, other capabilities will be inducted into it....what's your point.
103 LCAs are on order for the IAF, is that not enough for you to get off your soap box? Maybe the IN should have ordered 1000 then you guys might shut up.
Maybe if you people learn to keep your tongue behind your teeth, you wouldn't end up ridiculed so much, it's you people who couldn't stop gloating about the Bahrain no show for JF-17 and it's first Republic day flypast has suddenly become a threat for the JF-17....the trouble is every time you people manage to put a bolt on a nut, it's breaking news.
The PM of India implicitly instructed the military not to cross the LoC so as to not risk esclation but then you already knew that.
And if PAF had crossed into Indian air space, I guess it would mean self defence ....going by your logic.

Better than your nonsense.. who burn on daily basis.. apart showing your deep nonsense on India.. you have nothing to share...good for nothing.
Take a hike loser.

So after IAF reluctantly accepting the Tejas and the navy having it declined, what's the future for the LCA.
Considering the IAF is also shopping for a single engine fighter elsewhere.

The future of LCA is pretty good. The aircraft will get an Indian engine and at least 150-200 will be manufactured. The jet will also be exported to any friendly country interested.

As has the LCA, it was only ever meant to replace the MiG-21 but now the goalposts have been moved so it has IFR, AESA radar, an improved engine etc etc.

Please provide me a source that the LCA was orginally meant to be developed for a naval/carrier role, the Indian Navy only got invovled at a later date in the LCA project but never commited to it as a frontline carrier fighter but to support their efforts to produce an indigenious carrier fighter sometime in the future.

You guys are gloating about the N-LCA being "rejected" by the Indian Navy and I am simply providing you the FACTS, I know you have got it in your head "LCA=failure" but you need to revisit your bias sorry if that hurts your fragile ego snowflake.

250-300 LCA are assured.

Kaveri will be test flown on the LCA in 2018, will be operational by 2021/2.

grats on finally being able to produce a 3rd generation fighter jet in 2016

As much as this OP has make me feel pity for " Old man Tejas " but if IN really goes for Rafale for IN future Carrier than it will be a huge Headache for PN ..

I hope the MiG 29K/KuB stay on (Just because they look brilliant :D )

Off course your kind come here to search ingredients for Beef Biryani, in your excitement you people forget no one is interested in your forums which are nothing less than a zoo where blind leads blind, however since no one is interested in your little world, you all descend on Pakistani forums to tell us how big and great you are but when shown the mirror, your tiny ego gets busted.....you might be a nation six times larger than us but you have tiny hearts and mind and witnessing anything positive on Pakistan, your mind turns giddy and the little heart goes pitter patter into an overdrive.

India seeks new naval fighter to replace rejected Tejas LCA
Gareth Jennings, London - IHS Jane's Navy International
26 January 2017

The Indian Navy (IN) has issued a request for information (RFI) for a new carrier-based multirole combat aircraft after the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) was rejected as being unsuitable for service.

IMO, it is more about the love of western gadgets than home built LCA Tejas. There is lobby that would be pursuing the western tech road because of their proven quality and more like if IAF can induct then numbers should be given to IN as well. Lastly, I read, IN asked for changes in Tejas after trial for Navy version but seems like they want more powerful bird like Rafale for naval air wing. LCA Tejas could have proven much in its category after some time as per IN needs and changes but the same turned out to be lobby love for western fighter that somehow, unnecessarily downplayed home built fighter LCA Tejas. Furthermore, IMO, it is totally injustice with indigenous project, all the hard work of people involved and the money spent on the same. Foreign Gadget lobby could be strong that came with such requirement of foreign fighter instead of LCA Tejas. Just saying.
