IAF set to receive LCA-Mk1A fighters in February 2024

The LCA has arrived with fully imported parts … me think raffle jet is more home grown than lca

At least it used Indian paint from a foreign company tech

You keep thinking that. You are obviously prescient and absolutely right.
Just make sure everyone in Pakistan is as fully informed as you are.

Just hard facts ….

Some how when ever there is trouble lca is never around

Jamming pods that DRDO has developed for LCA MK1A and SU-30 MKI are based on GaN T/R modules. Confirmed by a DRDO scientist @3:27:

We have achieved something which even French do not have. Our Rafale's SPECTRA still has GaA jamming, whilst our LCA Mk1A will have GaN based HBJ pods/EW suite from its first model next year. These ASPJ/HBJ pods we've developed for LCA-Mk-1A & Su-30MKI are both capable of transmitting and receiving, thus consisting of both TX and RX antennas.

This configuration would allow both the fighters to do cross-eye jamming much effectively, thereby deceiving the enemy radar by creating false targets.

MKI is already a very powerful jet, just imagine the kind of jamming power at its disposal with GaN EW suite. It will have power to make even AESA LPI radars and AESA missile seekers totally ineffective like SPECTRA

Spectra is considered one of the world's best EW suite not because of its hardware but because of its superior software optimization and algorithms
Sure Hardware wise spectra is a generation older but that doesn't means it's less effective or powerful than DARE's EW suite

If it’s good enough as advertised, the IAF & Indian Navy would use this 50-years behind schedule jet as their baseline fighter and wouldn’t need to import any more jets off the shelf from overseas.

But the still open MRCA proposal puts a cold water on the efficacy of the LCA jet.

Beyond couple squadrons to assuage national sentiments and ego, the LCA is unlikely to be widely adopted despite the bloated proposed numbers splashed on media for marketing purposes.

Supposed to be as good as advertised. Issues seen in the initial version have been fixed as per HAL. That is a cause of worry. Assurances from HAL.

Only issue is it’s size that would govern it’s payload and range. That’s where bigger brother MK II would come in.

Come Feb 24, I would be a worried Indian on a Paksiatni forum. HAL has our a##es in line here.

Do you think ISRO might ever get into aviation research like NASA, at some point? ISRO is a major Indian success story and it will be interesting to see them emulate NASA and its advanced aviation research and breakthroughs. HAL & DRDO are typical developing world institutions with inertia and too much bureaucracy to impact much change.

Doesn’t appear to be a possibility in the near future. HAL and DRDO accountability has risen under intense scrutiny. If it improves further then any ISRO requirement can be met by these.

That is a conjecture based on current situation. Who knows the future?

Than Even the majority of these Chinese fighters (engines) are constructed using foreign components, including Turkish, SAAB, and EU aircrafts.

This is the main reason Pakistan is still unable to design and construct its own fighters, even a trainer aircraft. Instead, Pakistan currently partners with companies that develop products, manufacture them internally after TOT, and then spread false information about the origin of those products to its own general public by saying we build them

This way, even after 100 years, Pakistan will not be able to produce an aircraft by own.

At present, Only a few countries are able to do so, such as the USA, Russia, China, France, Sweden, Turkey, Iran, and India..... USA, France, and EU are fully capable of building their own.

The rest of the countries—China, SAAb, Turkey, and India are collaborating with other countries to get the critical parts. This is a modern and flexible way to build a fighter in your own house.
