Do you know how many pakistanis commited suicide in the same periode? serious question, cos if you think about it, the numbers are not that alarming. i mean india has about 1.4 mill armed personell right, and in 3-4 years 348 commited sucide. In norway, one of the best countries to live in, on a average 550 commit suicide every year, and we have a population of less then 5 mill.

So the number are, considering how challenging it must be to be a solidar, quit low
The ratio of death to total number is less indeed and again it does not mention the reason. Whether it was personal or due to work stress is not mentioned.

PLZ enlighten us. But it won't change the fact that indian soldiers love to kill themselves in a hope to get food in the next life.

I gave you examples with numbers. I compared the Indian armies suicide rates to that of Norway, a country which most think is the best to live in, and came out with a reasoning that indian armys suicide rate it quit low.

You came up with useless rant, and being a pakistani on this forum, my guess is you will get away with it without a warning from our respected and fair mods. So good for you, keep it up!

Anyway, this is a hopeless discussion for indians. I mean, how can you have a rational discussion with someone who belives that their force has zero suicide rate? I mean come on! That would make the pakistani military the happiest place on planet!

giving an indian propaganda website as a source.

Nope. Í didn't come up with excuses, rather I questioned the purpose of this tread when the news show that indian suicide rate is average. People kill themselves all over the world(except in Pakistani military of course wink wink) and as sad as that is, it is also a quit normal. Yes the indian army personell also commit suicide.no they don't love to kill themselves, not anymore then some poor chap in norway anyway.

the point i indians always use to say that you are out of our league and you compare yourself with china blah blah But your actions are different than what you say.
now about suicide rates. no pakistani soldier ever killed himself in war zone or on the border or LOC. People do suicides but it's ratio is very very low in Pakistan. In india every farmer from the poor states have to o it some day. Just 2 days ago 2 of your men were found dead on the border. possible suicide. They wanted to make india great by completing another half century and taking the score to 350.
Now about Pakistan army, the whole world know that we are in war situation since last 2 decadesbut still not a single suicide in war zone shows the difference. Only few small in number of soldiers did that and were reported in media which helps indians in getting satisfaction that "No problem 2-3 pakistani soldiers during last many decades have done suicide so we are okay with 350 suicides in 2 years."

Like I said. Impossible to have a serious discussion with people whow belive in fairy tails. A discussion about the existence of unicorns makes more sense.

no impossible to have discussion when your army soldiers have excellent suicide(winners as expected from super pawa) record and you don't have any answer to it other than comparing stats with other countries and satisfying yourself by raising questions like we gave the stats blah blah.

by the way 1 hanuman soldier(if feed well that day) is equal to whole Pakistan army.

I was reading somewhere that 24 Pakistani officers / soldiers have comitted suicide in the last 15 years.
Probably it was an article here on pdf by a retired bridgr.

Thanks for admitting that Indian Army suicide rate is lower than that of all Armies which reveal data, including first world & NATO nations like USA, Israel, Canada, Russia, France, Australia, Germany, Turkey, Japan, S Korea.

NEW DELHI: The armed forces continue to lose around 100 personnel to suicides every year despite successive governments holding that several measures have been taken to reduce the stress among soldiers. As many as 125 military personnel took the extreme step to end their lives in 2016.

Replying to question in Lok Sabha on Friday, minister of state for defence Subhash Bhamre said 101 soldiers, 19 airmen and five sailors committed suicide last year, with another three cases of fratricide (to kill a fellow soldier or superior) being reported from the three Services.

This year, 13 Army jawans have already committed suicide, while two such cases have been reported from the IAF. Soldiers posted in far-flung areas often undergo tremendous mental stress for not being able to take care of the problems being faced by their families back home, which could range from property disputes and harassment by anti-social elements to financial and marital problems, as was earlier reported by TOI.

Prolonged deployment in counter-insurgency operations in J&K and Northeast also takes a toll on the physical endurance and mental health of soldiers. All this is also compounded by poor salaries, lack of basic amenities, denial of leave and ineffectual officer leadership.

Bhamre, on his part, stressed the government had taken various measures to prevent such incidents. "These include improvement in living and working conditions through provision of better infrastructure and facilities; additional family accommodation; liberalised leave policy; establishing grievance redressal mechanism; conduct of yoga and meditation as part of the unit routine etc," he said.

the main reason for the mental stress of soldiers is the harassment by the officer category gundas JAGADEESAN CHEMBATH

"A large number of officers have been trained as counsellors to provide counselling to defence personnel and their families. Civilian psychological counsellors have also been employed to provide mental health services. Psychologists also visit units and formations from time to time to carry out counselling, individually and at times in groups," he added.

But a major problem that continues is that civil and police district administrations around the country are now largely unresponsive to the grievances of soldiers and their families unlike before. "One of the biggest worries for jawans is the hardships their families face back home. With mobile phones, our jawans keep on getting constant updates from their families, which adds to their mental stress and strain," said an officer.

Epic Fail.
Indian Army suicide rate is a tiny 8.4/100,000 personnel which is a lower suicide rate than the suicide rate of armies of USA, Israel, Canada, Russia, France, Australia, Germany, Turkey, Japan, S Korea etc.
