Afghan Taliban capture Pakistani soldiers in cross border attack

Yes, you are right (bolded post) but who care what they think and want? they are a bunch of destroyers who destroy thier own country and kill their own people. it is very pathetic, what have good the taliban done to their own country apart from destruction and masacars to do to NWFP?

Bro is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa now :) ....

Curiously I wonder why some countries press for inculsion of the so called "good" taliban in the alternate scheme of things in the current afghan government and as a part of future alternatives.

let me say something to sulemani keeda, before i left afghanistan i used to travel regularly between pakistan and afghanistan, through Torkham and also Tere Mangal and Parachinar area, this routine took place twice a month for many years. if you looked on the pakistani side of the border, you could see everything, better roads, shops, markets, lots of food and other products, schools for boys and girls in the very remote villages, buses proper gov etc. on the afghan side, you could see nohting but darkness, this was evident during the night, no facilities, no electricity, no hospital, insecurity, the taliban were only obsesed with people's beards and music, there was no hospital or school etc. it is worth noted that on both sides of the border there were pashtoon villages, no panjabi or tajik. What do you think would the pakistani pashtoons join this so called Pashtonistan which is already not accepted by the majority of afghanistan? Pakistani pashtons have sacrificied their lives for thie country pakistan, they have contributions to their country, they are loyal to that country. if a few ethno nationalists in afghanistna shouts about pasthoonistan , that never changes anything as it doesnt have any appeal to to the majority of peoole n the region.

Because 'reconciliation', which would involve the Taliban participating in the political system and giving up their violent struggle, would be the fastest way towards ending the insurgency in Afghanistan, speeding up the withdrawal of NATO, and therefore also affecting the insurgency in Pakistan.

are these actual soilders or paramilitary that were captured?
Its the FC (Paramilitary) i think. As regular army is not making post at border as its busy in assault. These posts are to keep cross border infiltration to minimum.

the paramilitary has historically been undertrained and ill equipped, so i can find this believable that they have been captured, but if it were actual soilders then there is something seriously wrong here.

But aren't U.S. Special Ops in Pakistan training the paramilitary?

The past captures/surrenders have they also been paramilitary or actual soilders?
It was mostly the paramilitary....

On one occasion 200 PA troops got surrounded by more than 800 taliban in a valley. And after fight of three days they managed to break the circle and reached the Near HQ. I'll try to find the link..Old news

not quite sure, but i think during the musharaf time TTP had captured many regular army soldiers, slaying a few of them and releasing the others.

The FC is like a police and come under control of provisional police of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
