Thanks for the reply! AFAIK, Dassault was considered as a consultant and then dropped as the details of work sharing and costing could not be worked out to mutual satisfaction. ( Source: The Tejas Story: The Light Combat Aircraft Project by Air Marshal Philip Rajkumar)

I'll be really happy if you can give me any indicator about what or where that article was? I'm collecting every bit of info on Tejas out there and it would be interesting to check this claim.
