Altay & Turkish Main Battle Tank Programs

The FNSS officials mentioned requirement of Turkish armed forces as following;

1000+ Altay MBT
3000 New generation IFV

any idea how long that will all take?
even with production of 100 vehicles per year for each it will still take a long time.

There will be 4 batches of Altay production 250 each, the first batch will be according to prototype and as far as i know there will be improvements with every batch, its a long term project.

Have you ever asked members How many person care What Madmusti like members are being cared in such serious forums ? He has an itching When It is mentoned the name of Altay since the beggining of the program and He has some itching with every project Koc group develops so Don't bring idiots to support your pathetic claims regarding a serious project.

Neither Otokar copied, nor modified any f@cking foreign tank. Noone took any design rights or licence from Korea. Put those informations in your mind. It is being told by many Otokar, SSM and TLF officials but You prefer using wrong statements of some sources. TLF requirements are completely different than What S. Korea developed under the name of XK-2. While signiture ceremony was held, All criterias were shaped at our engineers minds who is going to work with Land Forces staff. What Turkey requested from Korea is to receive engineering support on areas needed. It means Some Korean engineers who worked on K-2 project, came to Otokar R&D center and worked together with Otokar engineers. We just paied money as a value of their technical support but Otokar didn't satisfied expertize of Korean engineers who was bring to Turkey because Their key engineers were struggling to solve the problems XK-2 have and so It was told to SSM and Almost all work loads are being handled by Otokar's design/development engineers. Same Otokar engineers who designed Altay, are designed a state of art Tulpar like IFV in a short time. They didn't modify any existing IFV to develop it as well dude. When Altay passed into serial production phase, The all intellectual and property rights of Altay design will be delivered to SSM, Undersecretariat of Turkish Defence Industry. I mean, Licence owner of Altay is not Korea like you claimed, but SSM. You should better close your mouth and learn meaning of Modifying an existing tank like statements instead of trying to find some excuses to your desperate attempts with some false statements taken from sources.

If thats the case great :D,

Initial order is 250, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I expect even the inital orders to be broken up in different batches with eventual upgrades.
Lets say the first 50 vehicles are the bare prototypes 1.0 version, the second 50 will have slight alterations making it the 1.1 version etc.

Second order (if we ever get there) can be 2.0, and so on.
Atleast, that seems logical to me.

2015 is coming ,we will see how they will make it or not.
I don't know whatever its true but last month in an article on Hurriyet newspaper i read 2015 date will be delayed to 2016 because army wanted first batch Altays too have an APS(AKKOR) considering wire guided missile threat in neighbourhood rising non-stop.

It will be more funny when the 2016 delayed then to 2017. Let´s hope not but it seems to be that something like that must happen.

this is a heavy tank it can bust our world destroyer Al Khalid tank very easily

I'm hopeful we see the Altay serve with the Pakistani army. Combined with the AK2-AK1-TYPE 3000, our armoured formation would be a sight of awe and brute power.

I know I keep saying this, but keep it up Turkish bros. This is one of my favourite threads.

Why would it be funny, are you some sort of sadist ? :)

An annual production of 100 units of Altay ain't such a dream at all. The current production techniques are heaps better than those of yore. Having a well planned production line, utilizing proven lean production methods like Just In Time, Kanban and so on, will kick up the production rate no doubt. Although not on par with MBT-production, here in Volvo's Torslanda factory we only need 20 minutes to re-tool the factory between model year changes, ie 2013-2014 model. And car production needs some serious re-tooling..
