14 Reasons Why Saudi Arabia Is a Failed Mideast Power

@500 by the very beginning stage of war what time exactly you are talking , first year or after 2.5 year of war when we broke the siege of Abadan and freed khoramdhahr . the peace condition at the two different time were a lot different.

Saddam was begging for ceasefire in June 82, 1.5 years after the beginning of the war. But it continued for 6.5 years more when Iran tried to capture Iraqi territories. Thus 80% of the war was Ayatullah fault.

Yes, and since then, no one has ever attacked Iran again. The end.

there is two reason the ceasefire was not achieved at the time. 1 - Iraqi forces at the time were stationed inside Iranian border and the withdrawal of the forces and the recognition of the border was postponed to a later agreement which was not acceptable. 2- the instigator of the war was not determined in that agreement.

you aware that those are not after the war

Saddam was ready to return to pre war borders. Khomeni wanted more and continued war for another 6.5 years which did not led to anything. Hundreds of thousands of Iranians died for nothing because of Khomeni stupidity + Iraqi Shias as well.

This is simple.

War ended on August 1988. I said "since then" meaning since that war, no one attacked Iran again. Both those incidents are before August 1988.

Try again.
I thought u mean since Khomeni rejected Saddam's cease fire. And what does it matter if they attacked u april 1988 or november 1988?

as far as I'm aware Saddam wanted the ceasefire and ksa agreed to pay the damage to Iran but withdrawing to international border was to happen at a later time . which was not acceptable at all.

It means that once the war ended, we have not faced any war ever again. Maybe if we quickly agreed to ceasefire, then 2 years later, we would have faced a war again, because they would realize that Iran would be willing to back off. But when they realized that Iran is not scared of war, no one was willing to start a fight again.

Yet. Hopefully, this will be true for the future too.

How the hell you say that?! Saddam was not only going to retreat to the pre-war borders, but also he was going to use the ceasefire as trick to reinforce his forces to plan another attack! As the maniac proved it at the end of the war by invading Iran again after the 598 resolution! At that time there was no guarantee for that at all, especially in case which Iraq wasn't even realized as the invader force! Ending the war in such a condition would be the stupidest decision Iran could make!

1) Saudi Arabia and other Arab states fully supported Saddam Hussein, the dictator of Iraq, during his invasion of Iran (1980-1988), including financial support amounting to billions of dollars aimed at disintegrating Iran. They all failed. Saddam is gone, and Iran is more powerful than ever.

This here is an utter lie. The Arab League and the U.N supported Saddam Hussien when he called for peace and for 6 years Khomeini went on the offensive side in an attempt to annex Basra despite U.N. statements. There was no support prior to 1982 .

The support was not for "disintegrating" Iran but to keep the Arab land intact when Khomeini ordered the Iranian child soldiers to cross the Iraqi land and to run through landmines to overwhelm Iraqi tanks. The objective of the Arab support not only Saudi, has succeeded. Khomeini gave up and allow me to quote his statement ''Taking this decision was more deadly than taking poison"

"children were sent to the front as waves of human shields". "The State of the World's Children 1996". UNICEF.
Children as soldiers

Do you expect Iran or any other countries to trust a dictator that tore 1975 Algiers Agreement before the cameras? the one who invaded our territories and meanwhile was demanding cease fire? the one who used CW against his own people?
Even after 598 resolution he backed MKO to attack Iran again ....
If he wanted cease fire as far as he was aggressor he must have withdrawn from our territories then negotiations would have seen logical by Iran ...

You reap what you sow when your plan was backfired back then in 1991 ... Kuwait was invaded by the same dictator you supported for 8 years .. he even didn't respecte those who supported him during Iran-Iraq war ... not trusting such a maniac was the wisest decision made by IR ...

We actually know who is Leading !

he even didn't respecte those who supported him during Iran-Iraq war ...

Just like Iran didn't respect Israel which worked with the US during the Iran-Contra affair to sell the Iranians weapons and had also targeted Iraqi nuclear assets during the Iran-Iraq war.
