CHAMAN: At least eight people were killed and fifteen others injured on Friday in a suicide blast that took place at the Pak-Afghan border, Geo News reported.
According to security sources, a suicide bomber was on foot and blew himself up at Friendship Gate at Pak-Afghan border, killing eight people including five Afghan security men.
At least fifteen persons including five Pakistanis were also wounded in the explosion who were shifted to Chaman and Boldak.
Panic gripped the area after the blast.
AP adds:
Kandahar provincial government spokesman Javeed Faisal said the attacker detonated his explosives at midmorning at the gates of the Spin Boldak crossing into Afghanistan, which is used by thousands of people every day.
Border police said the checkpoint commander was also killed, and they assume he was the target.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
