ISLAMABAD:
Afghan Taliban on Saturday condemned the killing of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Chief Hakimullah Mehsud and described him as a “strong and brave” leader of the Pakistani Taliban.

“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was shocked at the news that Hakimullah Mehsud was martyred in a cowardly US drone attack,” the Afghan Taliban said in a formal reaction to the incident.

“The Emirate strongly condemns the American terrorist attack and consider the martyrdom of Mulla Hakimullah Mehsud as a great loss and convey condolences to his family members, relatives and Taliban friends,” a statement issued by the Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said.

The Pashto language statement was emailed to The Express Tribune.

The statement said the United States cannot achieve its goals through the “martyrdom of the Mujahideen.”

“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan calls upon the government of Pakistan and the people to double their efforts to stop such brutal American strikes,” the Taliban spokesperson said.

He said the helpless people of Afghanistan and Pakistan are suffering from the American attacks and people of the two neighbouring countries must show the courage to take the right decisions regarding their future.

What’s the point of posting almost decade old news? Hakimullah helped Taliban in their struggle against usa so Taliban had sympathies to him.
ISPR sent condolences on the death of our open enemy general Bipin Rawat.
You’d be a fool to think Taliban are our proxy or some sort. Taliban have their own interests and goals we have our own. Reality is now Taliban are in control of a country and we must work with Taliban to have peace in the region unless, Pakistan wants to invade Afghanistan (soviets lost, usa and nato lost, British lost, we wouldn’t do any better).
You have to move on and accept realities. Working with Taliban is what is needed at the moment.

There’s no difference between Hakimullah Mehsud or Qasem Soleimani. Both were terrorists. Both got smoked by Americans. Both massacred children, women and innocents. Both did terrorism in Pakistan.

Afghan Taliban followed up to their words with the actions when they freed up all TTP prisoners fro jails and have been bullying Pakistan military over erecting the fence along the border and effectively stalled this process and destroyed them at few places while TTP has increased the intensity of their attacks on Pakistan.

we celebrated Afghan Taliban win with the hope that they will disrupt Indian mission in planning and supporting attacks on Pakistan but exactly the opposite has happened.
