This is without a doubt geopolitical motivated not sure who is this eager to disrupt Chinese and Afghan oil explorations.. But there is some covert foreign agency behind it masked as ISIS. The CIA comes to mind trying to disrupt the growing Afghan-Chinese ties and the oil exploration

But in any case whomever it is this will only tighten Afghan-Chinese ties.. The same people targetting the Pakistan-Chinese ties are at play here. It is a foreign element but always hides behind ISIS or BLA etc etc We need to find out who this foreign element really is...

At least five people were killed and several others were injured in a blast outside the foreign ministry in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, officials said.

Kabul police chief Khalid Zadran said an explosion took place on the road outside the Afghan foreign ministry in which five of “our civilians were martyred” and a number of others were injured.

“The Islamic Emirate condemns such an aimless and cowardly attack on Muslims. The perpetrators will be found and punished for their evil deeds,” Zadran said.

AFP and Reuters had earlier reported that 20 people were killed in the attack.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack. Afghan Taliban officials routinely blame the militant Islamic State (IS) group for such attacks.

Another Taliban official, Ahmadullah Mutaqqi, brother of Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mutaqqi, said a suicide bomber wanted to enter the ministry but he could not reach his target.

“Security officials detected him at the gate and the bomber blew himself up,” Ahmadullah said.

He said the incident occurred when the majority of foreign ministry officials were away and thus the casualties were fewer.

He denied social media reports that the blast took place when Taliban officials were holding a meeting with Chinese officials. “There was no meeting in the ministry,” Ahmadullah added.

Pakistan strongly condemned the “brazen terrorist attack” that took place.

“The government and people of Pakistan extend their deepest sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families,” said a press release from the Foreign Office.

“We stand in solidarity with our Afghan brothers and sisters in the fight against the scourge of terrorism,” it added.

The Taliban-run administration has faced an insurgency by IS militants who have targeted foreigners at certain sites, including the Russian and Pakistani embassies and a hotel catering to Chinese businessmen.

I think India or US.

China has enough influence to diplomatically have greater control over Afghanistan than both of them.

Hence they are resorting to terrorism to destabilise them. Unless maybe the Taliban have beef with someone internally which is also possible.

Kabul name should be changed to Kaboom . Because that's what happens there, always.

Chinese nationals will remain a target in 2023 for an Islamic State offshoot operating in Afghanistan, because of China’s alleged suppression of ethnic Uygur minorities in Xinjiang, according to analysts.

China’s ties with the Taliban will add to the risks for its citizens in Afghanistan as the Islamic State Khorasan (Isis-K) militant group tries to undermine the regime by raising doubts over its security guarantees for foreign investors, they say.

The Afghan affiliate of Daesh has many enemies, as many as there are kuffār or infidels. Starting with the Taliban and ending with China, which it has recently targeted. The terrorist organisation's new rhetoric denounces China's growing imperialism in the region.

An article in ISIS-K's English-language publication Voice of Khorasan vehemently criticised Beijing's economic expansion in Central Asia and the Chinese regime's mistreatment of the Uighurs, the Muslim minority living in Sinkiang province. The jihadist group's media and propaganda terminals not only point to, but explicitly threaten China's interests in the region. Indeed, in the May issue of ISIS-K's new Pashto-language magazine Khorasan Ghag, one can read things like: "Islamic State warriors will attack China's modern cities to avenge Uighur Muslims".

Definitely not ISIS but foreign elements covertly and the same elements that has been targetting CPEC from last year.. I don't think they are suicide bombers but rather planted bombs.

IEA needs to put cameras on all sections of the city and expand it to other cities and leave nowhere without surveilance then you will see bomb planters not suiciders appear on camera..

I don't even believe ISIS being a thing.. They are absolutely joke and a freaking comedy.. They come of like a cartoon team and something not real

A suicide bomber was spotted and responsible for this blast:

ISIS-K has claimed responsibility for the attack and highlighted oppression of Uygurs in China as the motive. ISIS-K is at war with Afghan Taliban and is attempting to undermine them in fact.

ISIS-K was creating problems for the older Ghani administration as well. For example:

ISIS-K is composed of ex-TTP and ex-TTA cadre in large part - a bunch of misfits who do not get along with anybody.

----

Some in Pakistan are disappointed in CPEC:

Pakistani leaders invited Chinese investment with much furor but FORGOT about how to create opportunities for some Balochi locals in CPEC projects. BLA - another bunch of misfits - is/was able to capitalize on this disenfranchisement to its advantage to target Chinese nationals which is unfortunate.

Many of the issues in Pakistan are tied to poor governance.
