Well, the video message one of them allegedly left behind certainly suggest he wasn't here to participate in Qurbani ritual.

All of them naturalized Americans. Can't really tell what their motives were, maybe they were on a mission to save their Muslim brothers.

Quoting from Dawn News:

The men were picked up in a raid on a house in Sarghoda in the eastern province of Punjab, police officer Tahir Gujjar said, adding that three of the men are of Pakistani descent, one is of Egyptian descent and the other is of Yemeni heritage.

All of them naturalized Americans.
we know america distribute passport to those who are willing to work against Pakistan state. Hussain Haqqani is one example.
I remember black water also hire people who are from NWFP and are willing to work for them.
White/red skin americans will be spotted immediately while brown americans are difficult to nab.

BTW, why americans are only found around key military installations, sites and residences? why some people let them use their houses? why don't they go check in some decent hotel? why do we have sudden surge of american tourists that they are every where and all around us?

All of them are not American nationals, only one of them is usa born, pakistani

SARGODHA: An Anti Organized-crime Cell raided a house situated in Aziz Bhatti Town of Sargodha and arrested five foreign nationals.

DPO Sargodha Dr. Usman Anwar told Geo News that the police raided the house of Khalid Farooqi, an activist of banned outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad, and arrested five foreign nationals from there.

The arrested foreigners include 2 Yemenis, 1 Egyptian, 1 Swedish and 1 US-born Pakistani.

The DPO told that these people had been living in Sargodha since Nov 30 and it was quite a possibility that they were engaged in acts of terrorism.

Initial investigations have identified them as Ahmed Abdullah, Waqar Hassan Khan, Eman Hassan, Yasir and Rami Zamzam.

Security agencies have initiated further investigations in this regard.

5 foreign nationals held in Sargodha: police

Thats incorrect. All of them are American nationals and the American born who is of Pakistani descent is American not Pakistani. I've seen American born people who have Pakistani parents/grandparents, they are more American than Pakistani, they dont know anything about Pakistani culture they cant even speak Urdu.

Here's an article from newsweek:

Five Americans Reportedly Held in Pakistan on Terror Charges

Mark Hosenball

Five young men from the Washington, D.C., area are reported to have been detained by authorities in Pakistan's Punjab region in connection with an investigation into possible terrorism. Information about the arrests has been reported by Sami Yousafzai, a NEWSWEEK correspondent in the region, and by at least one Pakistani media outlet. A U.S. government official, who asked for anonymity when discussing sensitive information, confirmed that U.S. federal agencies are aware of the case and had already been investigating the individuals in question.

According to the Pakistani news report, five foreigners—described as one U.S.-born Pakistani, two Yemenis, one Egyptian, and one Swede—were arrested by a Pakistani anti-organized-crime squad during a raid in the town of Sargodha at the residence of an activist involved in Jaish-e-Muhammad, an Islamic extremist group alleged to have links to Al Qaeda that has been banned by Pakistani authorities. Jaish is also listed by the U.S. State Department as a foreign terrorist organization.

The Investigative Project on Terrorism, an American group that monitors Islamic extremism, reports that the five men were last seen in the U.S. on Nov. 29 and that there is concern that they "may have been sent abroad to train for jihad." The project says that one of the men, Ramy Zamzam, is a dental student at Howard University in Washington, D.C. The project also identifies Zamzam as the president of the D.C. council of the Muslim Students Association (MSA).

The Investigative Project provided NEWSWEEK with an e-mail sent via Facebook from the Howard University MSA chapter to its members, headlined "Missing people since Sunday November 29 2009." The message says: "It has come to our attention that 5 young men have been reported missing since Sunday Nov 29," and then lists five names, including that of Zamzam. The e-mail continues: "They were supposedly heading toward Baltimore. No Furthur [sic] details are known about their plans. If anyone has ANY INFORMATION pertaining to their whereabouts or plans PLEASE RESPOND INFORM THE POLICE IMMEDIATELY and help put an end to the suffering of their families for the past WEEK!"

The Investigative Project reports that at least one of the men left behind some kind of "farewell video." Two people familiar with the investigation to date indicate that although the Pakistani news report said only one of the detained men was American, in fact they were all either American residents or citizens. One of the sources says there is now discussion between Pakistani and U.S. authorities as to whether the men should be sent quickly back to the U.S. or initially dealt with by Pakistan's legal system.

According to one of the sources, the family of at least one of the detained men attends the Dar Al-Hijrah mosque, located in a Virginia suburb of Washington; the mosque was also once attended by Maj. Nidal Hasan, the accused Fort Hood shooter. Before 9/11, one of the mosque's preachers, Anwar al-Awlaki, was in contact with at least two of the 9/11 hijackers. U.S. authorities are now investigating contacts between al-Awlaki, who later fled the U.S. for Yemen, and Hasan.

NEWSWEEK correspondent Yousafzai reports that police said all the arrested men were being held on terrorism charges. Taliban sources told Yousafzai that more than one of of the suspects originally spent time in Al Qaeda's camps but quit the Afghan-Pakistan border area after Pakistan's Army began its recent offensive against the Taliban.

The Investigative Project notes that the report of the arrests in Punjab has occurred as concern is increasing among U.S. officials about homegrown Islamic extremism and self-radicalization among American Muslims like Nidal Hasan. The project also notes some similarities between the case of 20 or more young Somali-Americans who have disappeared from the Minneapolis area over the last year, having allegedly gone to Somalia for training with Al-Shabab, a terror group also affiliated with Al Qaeda.

Zamzam served as president of the HU Muslim Students Association! So there you are folks, an American politician who supports the jihadis! Doesn't that make all America guilty of supporting terror?

Who said Jehad = Terrorism?
One persons Terrorist is another persons Freedom Fighter. George Washington was a proclaimed terrorist by the H.M Government from 1775 till 1798 (one year before his death).

Who said Jehad = Terrorism?
Did you know, in Western universities professors used to teach that jehad was a peaceful spiritual quest of individual Muslims? Now nobody thinks of it that way any more.

One persons Terrorist is another persons Freedom Fighter.
That's just a word game. When you look at activities and context, they are completely different. So why should the word game be respected?

Ok guys, there is some thing wrong here.
These are not the only americans arrested in Pakistan but the only arrested being reported widely by foreign media.
Here is the vedio, american is free to move in open and is using mobile phone. who is definately not as young as reported!
Look what police is reporting that they arrested them on a tip off.
This is clearly implanted americans by CIA destined to get caught. They are even confessing without interogation! this time US embassy officials even visited them and came out openly to accept them as there own.
No attempts were made to use influence over interior ministry for their release.
Why they were not suspected while Pak embassy was issuing visas to them? Pakistan is not running tourist gala this december?
Question is why previously captured americans carrying wepons and using fake nameplate cars were released? and not reported by foreign media? even google is showing this news as first hit! this is unusual.

Can any one point out any other abnormality, in this arrest?

Apparently the scumbag in the video was captured after the arrested Americans gave information to the police. He is the mastermind behind Sargodha base staff bus bombing.
