Miffed at being snubbed by the International Cricket Committee over various recent decisions, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is mulling at the possibility of pulling out of next year's Champions Trophy, scheduled to be held in England. The BCCI has reportedly been angry with several latest developments, including the International Cricket Council's (ICC) proposal of a two-tier Test structure and the decision to disband the 'Big Three' reforms, which allowed India to have the biggest pie amongst all cricket playing nations - in the revenue sharing model. The latest snub came in the form of BCCI's exclusion from the ICC's finance committee meeting, which was held a few days ago at the body's headquarters in Dubai.

Speaking to Indian Express, BCCI secretary, Ajay Shirke, termed the latest ICC move as 'humiliating'. "These are the committees where all the important decisions are taken -- finance, commerce and chief executives committee; India not having a representative (in those committees) is a humiliation for us. We will tell the ICC, 'either you amend this or we will decide what to do to protect India's cricket interests globally'. It could be anything. We may even not play the Champions Trophy. Better sense may prevail, and we may not reach that stage at all. But there are so many options," Shirke was quoted as saying.

While ICC's moves haven't found favour with the BCCI, the Indian cricket board's chief grouse is that it doesn't have any say despite being one of the biggest fund raisers for the apex organisation. "When 70 per cent of the ICC's income comes from the BCCI, why should we not have a place in the finance committee? There's no question of domination, but is the ICC trying to be a Robin Hood -- robbing the rich and giving it to the poor?" said a BCCI office-bearer.

The BCCI had recently complained about the ICC's decision to allocate $135 million as expenses for the upcoming 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and compared it with the $45 million that was allocated to the Indian board for the recently concluded 2016 Men and Women's ICC World Twenty20, thereby questioning the logic for the three-fold increase in budgetary allocations for the Champions Trophy.

While the revenue sharing model has left the BCCI bitter, it has also joined five other Test playing nations in opposing the proposed two-tier Test structure, an ICC move that reportedly found favour with 72% of the players, according to a poll conducted by the Federation of International Cricketers Association (FICA).

BCCI has reiterated its opposition and has said that such a system will lead to smaller countries losing out. "The BCCI is against the two-tier Test system because the smaller countries will lose out, and the BCCI wants to take care of them," Anurag Thakur, BCCI president, had been quoted as saying in reports.

this is the most hilarious comment i have ever heard, BCCI which itself is a torch bearer of the big 3 setup is claiming that!!!!!!! which itself has destroyed the cricketing world.

ICC can never hope to offend india when 70% of its revenues comes from matches played by India, the elite group of england, Australia and India will continue to get lions share from ICC

India earns 80% of cricket revenues and hence India should have more say in how world cricket runs.

The problem is Shashank Manohar, the ICC boss. He is living in an imaginary world where everyone is equal. Where in fact those earn more should have more say.

BCCI is just taking care of BD and Sri Lanka test teams here. And ICC is hypocrite anyway, if India was ranked 7-8th in test then they will never suggest 2 tier system because they will loss revenues. But at the same time bloody BCCI also want to bankrupt Pakistan cricket.

I think its time ICC which is headed by Indian should call the bluff by BCCI. BCCI is now threatening every major improvements to the game of cricket. BCCI should also understand that without other nations its earning will be zero.

I for godsake cannot understand the logic of BCCI standing with Bangladesh. An team like Ireland with 16 years of test status would have been world beaters today.

Many of us Indians also believe Anurag thakur ,rajiv shukla , BCCI as a whole is a very corrupt and disgusting body.
It is true that BCCI generates a lot of money but promotes the game only to a select few IPL owners.

Any tournament is useless without Pakistan vs India, ICC makes most of it's money out of this match alone than it does from the whole tournament. What our good Indian friends tend to forget is that, India alone cannot make any money. It still needs teams to play with.

Secondly, Power blinds you and makes you cocky. Big three concept failed, god knows whats happening. Maybe a routine thing.

No trolling please.

India's money grabbing is ruining world cricket

Cricket was so much better in 90s, with so many great players

If India is generating most of the money it will take a bigger pie . No is here for charity .

India ate HALWA for 3-4 YEARS , now it wants to look after smaller countries YEAH right !!!!

Two separate issues and on both stance of BCCI is the same .

BIg 3 generate most revenue however this should lead to some nations sent to tier 2 .

But at the same time bloody BCCI also want to bankrupt Pakistan cricket.

Just leave it then, it's not even Pakistan's national sport.

Drop out of the international scene for a couple of years and ban official international broadcasts they'll make some concessions.

We don't need revenue we wana play CRICKET without BCCI , won't be missed do it BCCI calling your bluff

Come on really...

That will be the best decision.India should immediately do that...I second their decision whole-heartedly.
