Topless activists target Indian embassy (VIDEO) — RT

Four FEMEN activists have undressed at the Indian embassy in Kiev in protest against the country’s plan to block young Ukrainian, Russian and Kazakh women from entering India as part of a national anti-prostitution campaign.

The topless activists, partially clad in Indian clothes, used a ladder to climb the Indian embassy’s balcony and unfurled banners saying “Ukrainians are not prostitutes!”, “Delhi, close your brothels,” and “We demand apologies.”

The protesters waved Indian flags and knocked on the embassy’s doors and windows – until detained by security guards and taken away by the police.

The demo was sparked after the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs ordered its embassies to take extra care checking visa applications from women aged 15-40, who are blamed for the country’s prostitution boom.

FEMEN’s blog says that by issuing such an order, India has gravely insulted the women of Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan.

“Indian prostitution is directly connected with impunity of the country’s criminal business,” the blog states. “Blaming it on women is a shame for the heirs of such a rich and old culture.”

The FEMEN movement made its name by carrying out politically-motivated naked protests at home in Ukraine and in countries throughout Europe, including the Vatican.

The activists regularly protest against such issues as the sexual exploitation of women, “patriarchal propaganda of sex inequality,” and restrictions on abortions. They also supported a sexual assault cases against former IMF head Dominique Strass-Kahn and former Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi.

Not all of their demonstrations ended peacefully. In December 2011, three Ukrainian FEMEN activists protesting in Minsk against Belarus’ long-ruling president were kidnapped by Belarusian KGB officers. The protesters said the officers threatened them with knives, cut their hair and then left the women alone and naked in the woods.

On January 16, Ukraine’s Ministry of Justice refused to register FEMEN as an official political movement, claiming its position was extremist.

hahahahaha, nice job india, also block those east european bloc women because they are known to be big in prostitution business too

Isnt it cold in Kiev this time of year??

These "heated up" ladies generated enough heat with their protest! :)

BTW, if all these ladies (and their friends) who stroll around in Dubai to S. Asian cities and even Texas Street in Busan, South Korea were to get together to protest, then the cops in Kiev or Odessa or Moskva will find it hard to manage.

can anyone post the pics of protest

I want to see how serious they were:smitten::partay:

These ladies are brave, I must give them that. However, they are only reinforcing India's misinterpreted stand on the issue.
They should have staged a protest with clothes on in Delhi or something instead of stripping at the embassy. I think the Indian staff had quite an experience figuring out what's going on.

This video is much better

DIAGNOSTICS OF KARMA

January 18, 2012 at 12:38 PM

This morning, four activists from the peace FEMEN "sacred cows" took over the balcony of India ambassador's residence in Ukraine. Activists unfurled a banner on the balcony "We're not prostitutes," shouting "Delhi, close their brothels," "Ukrainka not prostitutes," "INDite in the ***!" and "We demand an apology." The four activists were detained by police and taken in the Shevchenko district office.

Offer FEMEN "Diagnostics of Karma" is directed against the official policy of the Foreign Ministry of India, urging their ambassady in the CIS countries subject to greater scrutiny of women aged 15 to 40 years, traveling to India. Thus, the official Delhi wants to insulate itself from the invasion of post-Soviet women, allegedly responsible for the rapid development of India's sex industry.

The women's movement FEMEN believes that the Indian Foreign insulted women one-sixth of the land, designating them as potential prostitutes. The problem of prostitution in India is not dependent on women from Ukraine, Russia or Kazakhstan, it is directly linked with criminal impunity pimp business within India itself. Blaming the problem of prostitution of women - patriarchal relic unworthy heirs of the ancient and rich culture.

FEMEN requires the Indian government an official apology to women from Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan for advanced in their address abuse.

In fairness, it should be noted that the shameful practice of distrust and suspicion to the young Ukrainian woman traveling abroad, operates in many foreign embassies. Every day, hundreds of Ukrainian women who are trying to get visas, forced to undergo humiliating procedure of justification, proving to officials that they are not ******. Such testing not only humiliate the person, but the nation as a whole. Ukraine is not a brothel! Ukrainian women are not prostitutes! Video Kitty Green

Damn wish i was there ...... lucky diplomat, he must have immediately looked for Dus dus ka bandal And switched on an item song "Tinku jiya "

Come to think of it, since they were so serious; they should've protested in New Delhi. Right in the middle of Connaught Place! :D

First of all the would've taken their battle to the enemy camp and then they would've surely converted many to support their cause! :P

FEMEN is always crazy with their protests. I guess that's the only way women can get attention in countries where the female to male ratio is ~115:100... Believe it or not, they often protest against the sex industry in the former USSR. Ironic considering their method of protest.
