Army most popular institution in Pakistan: Gallup survey

This survey was done by Gallup Pakistan group. I have not really regarded polls as much. This poll actually casts more doubts on Gallup Pakistan.
Are they really immune to army prodding?
Gallup PK is not independant and also Gallup Pakistan is not related to Gallup international

Gallup Pakistan, led by a Jamaat-e-Islami and Nawaz Sharif loyalist, Dr Ijaz Shafi Gilani, is notorious for its right wing and ISI centred polls.

Not many Pakistanis know that Gallup Pakistan has nothing to do with the US-based Gallup, Inc. that frequently makes international headlines with its presidential approval ratings and US economic data. Apparently, even an organization of the size and repute of Al Jazeera is unaware of this fact. Instead, Gallup Pakistan is associated with the UK-based Gallup International Association, which works primarily through its website and is notorious in the market research industry for handing out affiliations all over the world for as low as a few hundred dollars.
Over the years, most of the work done by Gallup Pakistan has been for government departments and non-governmental organizations based both here and abroad. Incidentally, both of [these organizations] do not set very high standards of accountability, said one industry source. This coupled with Gallup Pakistans inability to gain the private sectors trust raises a few questions about the organizations credibility.
It was in 2006 that Gallup Pakistan was denied registration of the Gallup trademark in Pakistan after the trademark registrar received objections from Gallup, Inc. Less than a year ago a US court ruled in favor of the Gallup, Inc. after the company complained of trademark infringement when Gallup Pakistans Dr. Gilani took part in a US radio show and used the name Gallup Pakistan to describe the company.
There has always been a big question mark over the formulation of the questions being asked in these surveys, and historically these survey companies have also been guilty of misreporting their sampling errors and margins of error, says Dr. Farrukh Saleem of the Centre of Research and Security Studies, an Islamabad think tank. Just a few months back a local TV channel ran a public survey asking people [if] they want Islam in Pakistan. Now for me that is an extremely inappropriate question, of course 98% of the respondents will say yes. But if we were to ask if they want the Deobandi, Barelvi or some other version of Islam, that would have got us much more interesting results.

@PK784 thank you - that makes so much sense
@epebble - there - its not the same gallup

this is from their website:
Gallup Pakistan is not related to Gallup Inc. headquartered in Washington D.C. USA. We require that our surveys be credited fully as Gallup Pakistan (not Gallup or Gallup Poll). We disclaim any responsibility for surveys pertaining to Pakistani public opinion except those carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International Association.

For details on Gallup International Association see website:

man - the kind of ways they make a fool of people - trying to pass themselves as "gallup" and @epebble here saying.. whats that now?:
Unless they are fraudulently using the Gallup name, neither Gallup nor Gallup International will allow such a charade.
they are fraudulently using gallup name and have been forced to put a small disclaimer that they are NOT affiliated to gallup international.

so much for your own charade here!

Wow, that is surprising. I know there was some tiff between Gallup (U.S.) and Gallup International. But, it looks like Gallup has become a generic word for anybody who does surveys. Like Xerox or Nylon.

the amount of deception these people do! no shame!!

the article says:

In a recent Gallup survey conducted across the country, the Pakistan Army has emerged as the institution with the highest level of public approval, earning an impressive 88 per cent rating.

while digging through the survey, its done by gallup pakistan.

and in their website, it clearly states:

We disclaim any responsibility for surveys pertaining to Pakistani public opinion except those carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International Association.

THEY ARE REQUIRED TO SAY THAT THE POLL IS BY GALLUP PAKISTAN AND NOT GALLUP

but still they went ahead and openly said "gallup" survey - knowing fully well the propaganda is enough to sway people and show that army has support more than other parties.

lanat on these shameless .........

This is basically a PML-N survey.

Politicians secure lowest rating on the list, with only 39 per cent of respondents approving of their performance

In a recent Gallup survey conducted across the country, the Pakistan Army has emerged as the institution with the highest level of public approval, earning an impressive 88 per cent rating.

The survey, titled "National Public Opinion Poll Report," conducted between June 10 and June 30, gathered responses from 3,500 participants representing various regions in all four provinces of Pakistan.

The survey illuminated the public's sentiments on various institutions and political figures, offering a comprehensive snapshot of Pakistan's current political landscape and the challenges it faces, including inflation, poverty, unemployment, and concerns about the efficacy of democracy.

The results of the survey showcased the public's perception of various institutions, with both the media and the courts receiving a 56 per cent approval rating, while the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) garnered a 42 per cent approval rating.

The police earned a 54 per cent approval rating, while politicians secured the lowest rating on the list, with only 39 per cent of respondents approving of their performance.

Region-wise breakdowns revealed Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) leading the approval ratings for the army with an impressive 91 per cent, closely followed by Punjab at 90 per cent.

army is still popular as a institution we know that .. and choooor like Zadari and Nawaz are not .. 100% correct

however if asked further if the current chief is popular it would be a massive zero... this guy is so bad he superseded 138 senior officers for promotions of his choice including many veteran commander

By what metric?

It's only army in the world that has lost every war and can't subdue 30 years of militancy

Every other country had no issues with adapting and maintaining law and order

Well I do trust the military of Pakistan.

Even after putting Ishaq Dar and letting him ruin the economy?

LMAOOOOO NO WAY

Well I do trust the military of Pakistan. Maybe the military of Pakistan should form their own political party.
they wont - they are cowards and are scared of losing their deposits if they stand in a free and fair election. they can only pressurize, bribe and blackmail a few of the already elected reps and rule our Pakistan.

they are parasites drunk with illegitimate power which they know, they can never get if they actually stood for it in elections.

Gallup in Pakistan is headed by a nooni chutiya, who previously showed Nawaz gainda as the most popular leader in Pakistan.

Pakistan is finished. It doesn't even matter who is popular or hated. The Pakistani economy is beyond repair. Expats don't trust Pakistan. Let the Noonies and the generals have it.

Army wasn't popular in balcihistan since 1970s in Kp since 2010s(when it wages an air campaign and fake drone strikes, in SINDH since 1990s (when it fucked benazir several times) and now even in punjab where it was popular

But survey shows it's 92% approval rating in KP

You can't get that approval rating in Israel or America let alone Pakistan

But survey shows it's 92% approval rating in KP
oh bhai.. have you read the rest of the thread? this entire survey is a propaganda and a lie.
are you being intentionally blind or are you also part of the same group as Signalian ?

if you were sarcastic, please pardon my ignorance - just too pissed off at how blatantly we are all being lied to by our once beloved army.

they are not maarkhors... more like har......
