Azerbaijan to buy JF-17 Blok II combat aircraft from Pakistan

Baku / 01.12.18 / Turan: Negotiations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan on the purchase of JF-17 Block II combat aircraft are coming to the end, the representative of the company "Pakistan Aeronautical Complex" (PAC) informed Azeri Defense at the international exhibition İDEAS-2018 in Karachi.

The source noted that all issues related to the export to Azerbaijan have already been resolved. Planes of JF-17 Blok II configuration requested by Azerbaijan passed the test.

Versions of the Blok II aircraft are already being used by Pakistani military aircraft and have proven themselves in practice. They have improved avionics and electronic security systems. They are equipped with AESA radar from China and Italy.

According to publicly available information, these aircraft can carry guided missiles and bombs of various types.

It is assumed that 24 such aircraft will be delivered to Azerbaijan, with a total value of $500 million. -06D-

It said it is "Assumed Price" ......
Quite self explanatory THUNDER Block II is 40 Million Range craft or higher

FULL PRICE:
  • Price of Plane Unit 35 Million to 40 Million
  • Price of Weapon's Package (Depending on Need Air-Air , Air to Ground or Air to Sea)
  • Training and Cooperation Agreement
  • Maintenance deal
Request for AESA , would of course be a "Add-on"

We won't really know the final price till signature is signed

From the article and additional talk, it seems that the Azerbaijan Air Force is looking to purchase a specialized Block II variant unofficially dubbed the Block II+. It is essentially a Block II derivative but with an AESA radar.

The deal is supposedly in its "final stages", so a verdict will be out sooner or later. $20M per AESA-equipped fighter is very cheap, although it is possible that the variant might've removed some capabilities found on the original Block II jets.

$35M million minimum for one AESA equipped block ll...

When did block 2 got AESA and that too from Italy? Yellow Journalism at best.
Block 3 will have AESA and that too the Chinese version.

Azerbaijan is in final stages of the deal. They gave some requirements which have to be fulfilled. For this MOU has been signed between Chinese and Turkish firms. The jet will have block 3 avionics sure and an AESA Radar and advance com/data link. Plus aselan targeting pods and some more perks. The jet will cost Azerbaijan $ 30 million a piece. JF-17 C block II.
