Bashar Assad: I will live and die in Syria

Syrian President Bashar Assad told a Russian TV station on Thursday that he would never agree to leave his country.

Sort of narrows down the options, negotiation, not an option, invasion not an option only leaves

In sum: already by 1985, Israel lost the vast majority of previously occupied Lebanese territory to the Shia uprising. In 2000 it lost most of the rest
Israel never had any intention to occupy Lebanon. We entered in 1982 to destroy PLO and it was achieved. In May 1983 we signed agreement with Lebanese government about complete pullout from Lebanon. But this agreement was foiled by your beloved "Shia uprising". As result Israel stayed in Lebanon for another 17 years. Thats their only achievement.

For example in 1948 and 1978 when Israel occupied parts of Lebanon, we pulled back in same year, because there was not any "Shia uprising" then.

After in 2000 that "Shia uprising" was still there why did you withdraw then?why didn't you stay there ?

Its their tactics: drag Israel into senseless war on attrition. It was a mistake to stay there on first place. They tried to drag Israel into another long occupation in 2006, but it did not work.

and here we go , there is always an excuse .

Instead of killing hundreds of people everyday , bashar should leave the chair for once and forever

Let's put his claims to testimony.

Once the Syrian Rebels reach him, we'll see where he will seek refuge in.

If you cant counter my arguments u call them excuse.

LOL @ People supporting their own Dictators in Jordan, Qatar and Bahrain yet opposing Syria's Assad as if they are some sort of democracy advocates..
When there were protests in Jordan, king did not shot them unlike Bashar.

of course he should live or die in syria.
and I will respect him if he live or die in syria. at least he is not a coward.

Actually i would say he is. At the moment hundreds of people die a day in a conflict that has no solution in the visible future. The rebels will continue to hold a large part of the country assad will hold on to bases and the major cities.

Stepping down could break the deadlock and start a path to peace, the longer he hangs on the worse things will get and the nastier the reprisals when he does go. Its not that he is too brave to leave he is too scared to go.
